Bland and overpriced food
Great food
There were four hosts and a half empty restaurant but we were told to wait 30 min. They got my number wrong, so we did not receive the text and went back to ask about our seating after 40. We sat on the upstairs patio which had a beautiful view of the sunset and the water. Our server, Desmond, was kind and attentive. The food was fine- they undercooked my boyfriend’s burger, but Desmond noticed and volunteered to make it right. I have a feeling he won’t be there long, but while he is definitely ask for his section.
It is definitely a nice concept of a place but the waitress we had was super rude as soon as we walked in. She asked us if we were ready to order our food before we even ordered drinks and when we weren’t ready and only put in drinks she walked away in a huff. We then waited for 25 minutes after being done with our food for her to even show her face again, I had to ask the manager to get our checks for us. Also, the food was very disappointing. The chicken was really gross and the seafood was even worse. Their veggies were by far the worse thing i’ve even seen and tasted. You could tell they were frozen veggies, they were unseasoned and gooey. For us to be spending $30 per person is actually insane. I would not recommend coming here.
Everything was worth the trip
we visited Salty Dog Cafe upon our visit to Kiawah Island. setting was gorgeous as the sun set behind the boats and live music reverberated from our ears. we waited about 5 minutes for a table outside, grabbing a quick drink at the bar upstairs. waitress was knowledgeable, fast, and friendly. my companion has a food allergy, so managers walked out both his plates (appetizer and entrée) and made sure to warn us about other items on the menu. i ordered the shrimp & crab mac and cheese, it's huge, legit enough for leftover dinner, breakfast, lunch and dinner ;). companion ordered the daily fish, snapper with chimichurri (had a bit of a kick but still delish) and golden yukon potatoes. veggies are a mix of green beans, wax beans, and (one) carrot(s). they create/partner to create their own line of beer and wine and had plenty of delicious cocktails and additional local beers to choose from. also have a tshirt and souvenir shop available for the famous salty dog cafe tshirts. offered matches, stickers and coasters for free, stoked to use for my junk journaling. make sure to read the story on the menu about jake! would absolutely visit again!
By far, one of the worst hamburgers I have ever had. It was a greasy mess, had terrible flavor there was something inside that was just not right. Chewy nasty.
Great Food, Better Views, and Top-Notch Service
Had a great lunch with the family today at the Salty Dog Cafe in Seabrook. The location is unbeatable - right on the marina with a beautiful and relaxing view that really sets the tone.
Our server, Bryce, was fantastic. Super attentive, kind and brought great energy to the table. He made the experience even better.
Perfect spot for a laid-back meal with the fam!
Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Our meal was fantastic. Our server was Zachary, he was pleasant, attentive & overall fabulous! We ate at Salty Dog on 7/4/2025.
Great food and scenery. I was there last Saturday afternoon with my sister and saw an extraordinarily attractive waitress there. I said thank you mam on way out. One of the best smiles I have ever seen…

The She Crab soup was delicious and the baked oysters were tasty! Cocktails were generous pours!

The food should be better here. Great location & atmosphere. We dined twice over the New's Years holiday. First time we tried both specialty oysters. They were so small I could barley taste them. The barramunda was the catch & it was delicious. Second time we had tge crab dip as an appetizer. It was served cold(?) With, chips, pita triangles & carrots(did not understand). Could barley taste any crab. My wife & I shared tge cast net. Everything was overcooked. Again with the small oysters. Sorry, the food just did not match the expectations

Great location. Nice view with lots of outdoor seating. The wait staff when we visited were not the A-team but friendly and our food arrived quickly. Good beer selection. Kids menu is great as well. I was impressed with the clam chowder and my wife enjoyed her crabcake sandwich. We look forward to returning.
