Used to eat at the Southern General weekly. They doubled their prices and the food quality went down. You can spend the same amount and go to the Crab House for better food and portions.

This used to be one of our favorite places to go for a sandwich and a drink.
The Ruben sandwich my husband had was delicious! The other special was lobster Mac n cheese so I ordered it, it cost 21.00 and I would have needed glasses to see the lobster!! When the owner asked how it was I said I was disappointed, she then asked how it was the taste otherwise. Not cool!!!

First visit since change of ownership. This has been a favorite for years, and we were happy to find the same menu with everything as delicious as it always has been! We started with the poutine, then had our favorite sandwiches - the CubanMi and famous Sloppy Joe.

Service was great. We'll be back again before we move!

Stopped here for a quick lunch after going to see the Angel Oak on our way to Hilton Head. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the food was amazing, even if the place was on the smaller size. The kids menu was a huge plus as we had run into a lot of places on our trip that didn’t have one. As a northerner, I was surprised to see poutine on the menu and I couldn’t pass up the chance to try it. It was the best poutine I have ever had and was 100% the best thing I ate during my whole vacation. It was a good size portion that I ordered as my meal and couldn’t even finish. The seasoning on the fries, in addition to the batter on the HOMEMADE cheese curds was absolutely *chefs kiss.* My family enjoyed their meals as well, but I couldn’t tell you what they ordered since I was consumed with poutine. 10/10, highly recommend.

We found this gem by chance after visiting the Angel Oak and we were not disappointed! My kids had the hotdog and hamburger with fries. The pickles and fries were homemade and delish! My husband had the shrimp po boy- which is his very favorite sandwich and he is very critical-he loved it. I had the special - the patty-melt and OMG was it a delicious burger! And I usually don't like cucumber salad but theirs was really good. The service was wonderful and the ambiance relaxed. We will be coming back for more when we are in the area again.

Kid-friendliness: Our server was very friendly and engaging with my kids and the meal was a lot of food for your buck

I don't sing the praises of this place enough. The turkey pesto sandwich was as good as any sandwich I've had in the town. Service was brilliant.
Didn't have a beer but they've got a nice selection.

Honestly, I almost walked out bc of the atmosphere and empty dining room. It scared me that nobody was there at 6pm. I am glad we stayed, and gave it a shot. The food was really good. My simple chicken sandwich was seasoned really well. Tomato was grainy though and the cucumber salad side was ok, too much vinegar. Getting fries as a side, it cost extra. I did not think a $10.50 chicken breast sandwich would not have fries. My daughter got the wings and said they were the best she ever had. My husband got the fish and chips, the frying was beautiful, thick and crunchy. This place seems to do a lot of take out. Many take out orders were picked up. More people came as we were leaving so that improved the feel that we were the only ones dining. The restaurant ambiance-It was dark inside, table was sticky or felt like build up of cleaning chemicals, music was 70s/ boring and it kept going out with Wi-Fi issues. It smelled like something burnt or as if someone had been smoking in there. Fries were lack luster, processed. Because of atmosphere, felt dingy and dirty, not sure I would come again even though the food was good.

Just not impressed- food was ok, but for the price, I could go somewhere with a much nicer atmosphere. My friend’s bill for a chicken sandwich, fries, 1 glass of Pinot, and an appetizer was $44. Anyways, too many better options in Charleston for the price.
