This was our first time dining at this restaurant. The servers was so friendly and efficient. Ordered the baby back ribs. The ribs were very dry, difficult to get off of the bone, and the meat was tough.

This is a fairly higher end barbecue restaurant so I thought food would be great, not so much. I had 2 meat platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were very tough, definitely not fall off the bone. The brisket was also very tough. My wife ordered chicken, it may have been leftover from earlier in the day, it was dry, dry, dry. Outer layer was like leather. So much for this eating experience, won’t be back. To be fair I ordered as take out but I only drove 10 min so that should not have mattered. BTW, this was $100, I have no problem paying that if it’s decent but I could have pulled into some bbq dive on the side of the road and most likely had better for half that.

Very disappointed in the way Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House treated my family this evening.

After first saying we would be seated, they quickly reversed their stance, denying us seats after asking how many kids were with us.

We have come to Kiawah Island for years with kids and have never had this occur at any restaurant, extremely disappointed. If you do have kids, I would recommend you go elsewhere.

NOT family friendly. After seeing we had multiple children with us, they told us it would be an hour or two to see us. They were about to seat us and then changed their answer. Restaurant was half empty, and their explanation was vague at best. Expected better from a Kiawah resort restaurant.

We’ve come here for years and really enjoy our dinners here. We all love the Brisket, Mac and cheese, and fries. Our one teen loves the quesadillas! As always, service is top notch!

We tried making reservation online and were told none available for a party of five. We called and left message for a reservation and had to leave a message for a call back. No one called us back, so we decided to go to the restaurant anyway. The hostess seemed a little put off but seated us anyway. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Food and atmosphere were good.

Cherrywood BBQ was a great place for a casual dinner on Kiawah. Prices are steep, but the food is very good. We also enjoyed taking dessert to go. There were sports playing on the TVs, and the atmosphere was not rowdy. There are beautiful golf course views of Osprey Point, and you'll likely see some wildlife. Highly recommend the pulled pork and Mac and cheese. It is a good place to go if you have kids with you.

Call ahead and make a reservation, but don't leave a message. Keep calling until you get a person and confirm your reservation. If you walk in before 5:00 and have a party of 4 or less, you probably don't need a reservation on a weeknight. But it wouldn't hurt. Large parties DEFINITELY need to call EARLY and make a reservation.

Parking: There was plenty of parking and a covered drop off. There is handicapped parking, too.

Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids eating here. Plenty of kid-friendly options, including chicken tenders and Mac and cheese.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp to the door from the drop off and the restaurant is on the ground floor. I would make reservations ahead of time and let them know how many of your party will be in wheelchairs so they can arrange your location to be easy in and out for you.

Actually very good Bbq on beautiful golf course setting. Where many of the Kiawah restaurants are somewhat subpar this one stands out. What it does it does just fine.

Love the atmosphere here, and I have been here a few times and the food can be hit or miss. Last time my pulled pork was very dry and stringy… but I have had really good ribs here before and the brisket has always been good. Will come again sometime and update the review next time.

This place is great, right at the turn of Osprey Point golf course. Service is outstanding, I ordered some quesadillas to take with me. At hole 11, some raven’s pillaged my to go box and ate 3 out of the 4 slices. When I got back to the clubhouse Natalie the bartender took care of me and got me another quesadilla. Great service, thanks!

Also, Natalie’s whiskey sours are the way to go!
