“Each time I come down to stay at our family’s home in Kiawah, we always end up walking down the beach to The Sanctuary’s Bar to end our evening. This year the staff was A++++. I have to give a special shoutout to Nel, Britney & Mr. Wesley for going above & beyond the entire week, each night we visited. From seeing some of us waiting in line & before we even got to the front of the line, knowing & having our drinks ready or to helping my grandmother onto our golf cart as she is handicap. They made our family have the most fun we have had in years down here in Kiawah. We look forward to being back over Easter. Thanks for everyone who took care of us throughout the week!”

“Oh my gosh!!!! One of my husband and I’s favorite meals of all time. Our sever was incredible, and dinner was even better. You start with homemade butter which is delicious followed by bread. We had the beef tartare and tuna carpaccio- both delicious. I’d say the tuna was better to my but my husband liked the beef. My husband had the wedge salad and that was also great! For our main course we had squid ink risotto and octopus then I had the scallops with potato mochi. Absolutely insane and so good. We finished with the chocolate cake and banana punch. Would recommend this over and over!”

“I had the best time visiting family friends in Kiawah! The Loggerhead Grill made me the best tasting pool-side salad I've ever had. The lettuce was fresh with a great crunch and it was loaded with protein. The view was beautiful, I hope to be back soon.”

“I grew up in a small town north of Boston. Each weekend the kids went to The Marblehead Sub Shop where the bread was freshly baked, the meat, cheese and veggies were sliced (not chopped) and the Sub was loaded and topped with oil and vinegar.

“The ice cream is really good. The chocolate was rich and buttery. I don’t understand the lower reviews due to pricing. Being at a 5 star resort, right on the beach, what do you expect? I guess people always have something to complain about.”

Super friendly, welcoming, and somehow make you feel like you’ve been coming there for years — even if it’s your first visit. Now let’s talk ice cream… I’m a cookie dough guy, and let me tell you — this place absolutely delivers. I went in thinking I’d grab a scoop and be on my way… next thing I know I’m standing there debating if it’s socially acceptable to order a second one immediately 😄 It’s the perfect spot to swing by with family, cool off, and enjoy something that honestly just makes your day better. Mount Pleasant definitely scored big with this one. 10/10 — just don’t blame me when “quick stop for ice cream” becomes a regular routine.”

Until your order arrives you can entertain the kids in play area which is 20 steps away.
If you go early you can get your order quicker & grab good table to be seated.

“We recently visited Charleston and forgot to make dinner reservations, that’s when we happed on to The Royal Tern. Despite no reservations, they gladly seated us at a great table. The food was exquisite, everything from the Raw Bar, the fried shrimp, to the halibut. The halibut was prepared perfectly and was so unique; the ingredients worked together in delicious synergy. My cocktail was on-point, too. As a home cook, being able to watch the chefs prepare the meals was fascinating. Mad respect for their craft. Met one of the owners as he was making his rounds in the dining room, and he was a lovely person. He even printed a map w/shortcuts for us since traffic is so bad in the Charleston area. Highly recommend, will definitely be back next time we’re in town.”

“So there are 2 locations. This little location is in Folly Beach and kinda hidden, but it is so cute! The decor is awesome and our bartenders were great. Folly beach and Charleston SC are our favorite places to be for summer. The Charleston location is the big location, and also awesome. We just frequented this spot because it was across the street from our apartment.”
