This place deserves a 5.0. The best steakhouse I have ever been to. Every detail was amazing.

We had an outstanding dinner experience here. The pace was nice and relaxed, the food was excellent, and the service was wonderful...can't wait to come back and experience this again!

A little annoyed to be asked at check in if I was wearing a collared shirt. Give me a break. It's off season, I clearly had a collared shirt on, and I'm going to spend 1000 on dinner but you're still going to make me show you my polo under my pull over which also had a collar?

Unfortunately the balcony was being painted when I arrived so my initial pictures of the ocean view had to be discarded.

Great menu for breakfast. We ordered from menu and enjoyed the hospitality of our waiter.

I recently dined at The Ocean Room and I must say that it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the service was lacking and the overall quality of the meal was far below expectations.Firstly, our waiter was inattentive and unresponsive throughout the entire evening. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills and were left waiting for extended periods of time before our orders were taken. It was frustrating to see the lack of attention and care from the staff. To our dismay, the main course, specifically the steak, was burnt to a crisp. It was not only overcooked and tasteless but practically inedible. The charred exterior hindered any enjoyment of the meat, leaving a bitter aftertaste. It was evident that the kitchen staff completely disregarded any semblance of proper cooking technique. Moreover, the sides that accompanied the steak were lackluster. The vegetables were undercooked and lacked seasoning, while the mashed potatoes were excessively creamy to the point of being unappealing. The overall lack of attention to detail in the preparation of these dishes was evident and disappointing.Furthermore, the quality did not reflect the exorbitant prices. The Ocean Room markets itself as a high-end restaurant, but the overall experience felt more like a cheap diner. The lack of professionalism and care in both service and food preparation was simply unacceptable. In conclusion, my visit to The Ocean Room was a complete letdown. The combination of burnt steak and horrible service left a lasting negative impression. I would strongly discourage anyone from wasting their time and money at this establishment. There are surely better options available for those seeking a quality dining experience.

We dine here every August when we vacation. This year the service was well below expectations. My wife is gluten free. Our waitperson acknowledged it and even said "we have gluten free bread." But, we never got bread until the entrees arrived, and no gluten free. The regular bread could have been from a bag from Harris Teeter. We did not even finish it. Blah.We ordered three side dishes. They did not arrive until almost 10 minutes after we were served our steaks. And my wife had the scallops. The waitperson indicated she could not eat the dumplings (gluten). But she did not even offer to put a substitution on the $60 plate. Also, this is an upscale place. In our experience they always provide a pedestal for the ladies' purses/bags. The tables near us were provided pedestals. My wife put her purse on the floor, no one even noticed. Our friend just held hers in her lap.I still tipped about 18% because there are so many assistant servers that depend on those tips too. Our main waitperson did not earn it.For my money, if you want to eat at the Sanctuary, just go to Jasmin's Porch.Sorry Ocean Room, big fail this year.

The The Ocean Room is 5 stars! The food was delicious, I had one of the best filets I've ever had. Food presentation is like artwork. The restaurant interior is beautiful and you can enjoy ocean views while you eat. The staff was the best of the best, everyone we encountered was amazing. Truly a wonderful experience! Don't forget to make reservations and be mindful of the dress attire. We will definitely be back.

The Ocean Room was a terrific dining experience. The variety of appetizers and all the steak entrees were excellent. Our server, Danielle, was attentive and provided several recommendations. The dining room was beautiful and we were seated by the window and balcony with a direct view of the ocean. Two points of direct feedback: (1) it is pricey (Manhattan or LA level prices) so it lends it self to more of a special occasion dining experience and (2) the markup on the wines is extraordinary (if you can take advantage of the $50 corkage fee). Will return on our next visit to Kiawah Island.Kid-friendliness: This is a fine dining restaurant but located within a resort. We dined with our children and other families were present with their children.

Came for a family reunion with a prix fixe menu. The service was top notch. Our servers had great recommendations and we're at our beck and call. The food was great. We had the option of the salad, or burrata for our first. Both were a little lack luster. The burrata was what I ordered and the amount of cheese was not in ratio to the rest of the dish. The second was the risotto or lobster bisque. The mushroom risotto was great and so was the bisque. I would not be able to choose between the two. Lastly we had a mushroom dish, fish dish, rib eye and tomahawk steak. I had the tomahawk steak, it was to die for and one of the meltiest pieces of meat I've had. The desserts were cheesecake and pot de creme. The pot de creme was the way to go the cheesecake was a little too airy and not as dense as I would've liked. I would definitely take a friend or date here

This is in my top five best dinner experiences I ever had. We started with the seafood tower. This included the best lobster and oysters I ever ate. Then I had a ribeye which was very flavorful. The desert was walnut brownie with ice cream which was amazing. The service was also excellent! I will definitely be back!

Beautiful and classy dining room. Exceptional service. Only the second time I have been provided a stool for my purse which I find a lovely touch. Most things on menu can be made gluten free which is fabulous since my husband is celiac. They even have GF bread which is alway appreciated. However, the first piece of bread they brought to him was “like trying to bite into a block of wood, and if I were much older it would have chipped my teeth.” We told the waiter, and he brought a new piece which was fine. Maybe someone should have noticed the first piece was hard before serving it, but ended up ok. We had a good laugh. We both had the onion soup which we loved. I had the scallops which were good. My husband had the steak. He said he thinks it was prepared correctly, but they over seared it. There were a few “charred ashes” on the searing crust. He still enjoyed it, but a bit of an oversight from the kitchen. We shared crème brulee which was good. Nothing exceptional. They served chocolates as well. For the price, location, and service the food falls a bit short. Enjoyed our evening, but food doesn’t compare to other places comparable to the caliber where we have dined.

Amazing always a great place. Suggest you seat in the lounge it has the same menu and more casual. Love everything about the Ocean Room!
