In town for work and had a craving for tacos. Decided to try out this taqueria based on the reviews. Definitely worth it if you love tacos. Super affordable and packed with a lot of meat. Both salsas were great, and one had some real heat. Horchata was not overly sweet, the perfect refreshment. An awesome family business.

Walked in to this place because saw the taco pictures on the reviews. I’m surprised at the tortas and tacos they were so good. Will be back and try different food on the menu :)

I don't know where those good reviews came from. The cake (pancake) is not useful. First and last time I eat there. Maybe the tacos but I wouldn't dare go back.

Very rich authentic Mexican foodvery friendly staff
True definition of a DELICIOUS hole in the wall!!!!!We love an adventure in eating… everything from taco carts, food trucks, to fine dining chef tables with tasting menus. This 5-star rating is based on quality and value found in authentic, affordable, whole-in-the-wall types of places.Best tacos I’ve had in 3 years since I left my Los Angeles taco trucks behind. You know the place is really authentic Mexican when all the patrons are Spanish speaking and you may have a tiny bit of language barrier in ordering. Sure enough the chef (who was the aunt of our server) is from Vera Cruz area of Mexico. Yaaay! These tortillas are likely handmade at home from someone’s abuelita (grammy) just yesterday! Fresh and sooo divine!!!We had 3 lengua tacos (absolutely perfect) and 2 steak tacos (beef was a bit well done/crispy on the edges, not our fav, but tasty) $2.50 and we wish we had room to try more!Don’t judge the humble interior of blue-painted particle board on the walls. Think “taco truck but thankfully with an AC-cool, clean, interior where you can escape the heat while you eat, food served on sweet gramma’s eclectic China plates, affordable prices, and delicious food”.Overall, my inspiration to come here with little info on Yelp or Google, no knowledge of the menu, was to count on a light lunch of tacos based on ‘taqueria’ in the name and to write up a review for those of you out there traveling between Myrtle Beach and Savanah or Jax who might be craving some good authentic Mexican. But, if per chance you live near Lake City, SC and want good affordable Mexican food but don’t know the jewel that is Taqueria Amber, you’re welcome! Treasure this delicious pearl!
