Some damn good BBQ. Thank you Uncle Willie!

Truly the best staff and BBQ I've ever experienced. My favorites are the greens, brisket, and catfish, but I've loved everything I've eaten from them. If you even like BBQ a little please give them a visit!

Sad to to see the gentrification have the effects of this place. Not many places serve good reasonably priced food as my Uncle Willie does.

Wanted to try some seafood from this soul food place. Ordered red snapper with fries. It was really not good at all.... the fries were not fried just super soggy, soft and dripping in grease, like marinated in grease, not fried. The fish was so dry and definitely not freshly cooked. You could tell it had been cooked hours (or days) earlier... uhg! Couldn't eat it. Had to throw it away. Paid over $12 for that. I don't understand how an up and running restaurant put this minimal effort in making the food. I'm sorry uncle Willy but I think you need to look over the food quality and preparation and put some more love into it. Disappointed.

I felt like going on a soul food adventure today & decided to do take-out from here. When you call their number, an automated voice message will inform you that they are ONLY taking orders from: DoorDash, Postmates, and UberEats. We did pick up after ordering through DoorDash because we live in the tri-city part of East Bay. I'm not gonna lie, we did get lost so we were pretty late in picking up our food. When we picked up our food, everything was still nice and fresh. The one thing I was worried about the most was the fried foods that we had ordered. I was afraid that it would get soggy. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Platter with a side of Mac n Cheese & Potato Salad. My boyfriend ordered the Homemade Links Platter with a side of Mac n Cheese & beans. We also added some extras: Chicken Wings & a Small Seafood (Catfish) Basket. Sadly, my boyfriend didn't check the order before he brought it back to the car and realized that they gave him brisket instead of the links. But we were so hungry that he didn't mind it at all. I must say, they are highly generous with the brisket! If I could remember I had like... 8 or so pieces, or maybe i'm over exaggerating, because I ate really fast haha. Other than that, my boyfriend loved the brisket as well. The sauce was fire and I personally am not a bbq type of person, but we went here per my boyfriend's request. The mac and cheese were FIRE! I loved it, too bad we only got one scoop each, I should've ordered extra. The baked beans made my bf's eyes roll haha! He loved the pairing of the bbq with the sides. As for the potato salad... let me tell you, I HATE potato salad. Why? Because it always has to come with all this extra stuff, but this potato salad? Fire. Bomb. I don't know how else to describe it because this hit the spot for me. I HATE pickles, but for some odd reason, I still ate the potato salad even if I seen the slightest hint of minced pickles in there. I ate ALL of the potato salad. Now for the fried chicken, I felt like it didn't have any extra craziness going on, possibly because I wanted them plain. I can say that it was perfectly cooked and it paired well with my whole entree. I loved the texture of crispy fried food with tender meats and mushy entree's. My boyfriend also added catfish as an extra. Of course the fries got soggy, but that's a no-brainer since our order sat there waiting for us to arrive. The catfish itself was perfect, it did NOT get soggy. It tasted as if they washed their fish and isn't fresh from the river/lake, which is what I like. Everything we had here was exceptional, except for the sauce it came with the catfish. It was TOO pickley if that makes sense. If you love that taste, that sauce shouldn't disappoint. Everything here was perfect. The location was great as well because just down the street was a park that my boyfriend and I got to park at and eat. The pricing is pretty pricey, but I feel like it is worth it for some authentic food. I personally did not get to finish my food, so you definitely get your moneys worth here.

Just ordered on Doordash and it was SO GOOD. The BBQ sauce is the perfect balance of tangy, sweet, and rich. Ribs, BBQ chicken, and brisket platter--more than enough to feed two. Generous portion sizes and delicious food.

Waaaaaay too salty. Ribs and brisket super dry. Tossed out everything but the bbq beans.

Brisket had no smoke ring, and very chewy. I suspect they used tri tip over brisket. Automatically covered the meat in sauce to cover up the lack of true BBQ smoke flavors. Never coming back here again.

I am here now and food is just amazing and service is really nice feels like you home for bbq. Meats are amazing everything is so fresh they even took me in a back to show me how they prepare their meat. Thank you guys !

So delicious! Ribs are smoky, tender, falling off the bone. Brisket is not fatty, just delicious. Mac and cheese and the beans are homemade and incredibly rich. Beans with onions, etc. Mac with a crust. Second visit. Never disappoints!! Back in Oakland for a show by Boy Scouts at the Starline Social Club and had to stop by! Rode my bike from the hotel.

If I ever go back, it is Ribs only. The fish is measly and overcooked/dry. Very disappointing for having spent $50

We were in the mood for BBQ after watching a movie at Jack London And found Uncle Willie's BBQ on Yelp and decided to give it a try. First we couldn't tell if the place was even open as it looked closed. Once we saw some movement inside we decided to cross the street and enter. It was a hot a** day in Oakland and they didn't have any AC or a bathroom in this place but Mine decided he wanted to eat there so I had to suck it up and sweat it out. We each ordered a 2-meat Plate with sides and bottled waters which cost about $50. BBQ is sure getting expensive! We sat down and after about 15 minutes our food came out. I ordered the ribs and half chicken and he ordered the smoked beef sausage and brisket. We both got the beans and Mac and cheese for our sides. The beef sausage was good and tender, not chewy which was a plus. The brisket was by far the best as it was tender, no fat and had good flavor. The chicken was juicy, tender and had a good smoked flavor. Their homemade BBQ sauce was also a plus and was paired good with the chicken. I absolutely LOVE ribs and these were such a disappointment. There was so much fat on them and they had no flavor. What meat I could get off I had to drench in BBQ sauce. The sides were also sad to me as I didn't like the Mac and cheese. It had a sour taste to me and was too dry. The beans however were pretty tasty. Mike said he would eat here again and enjoyed his food. I probably would not eat here again. The picture I attached is everything we brought home as I forgot to take a pic beforehand. Usually we don't bring home anything but the food wasn't good enough for us to eat it all.

The food here is always good. My fish was super hot and fresh. It's a family owned and ran business. This is my favorite place to eat!!!

I ordered the brisket mini plate w a side of Mac n cheese. Surprised at the amount of meat to enough for one sitting maybe two depending on your hunger. Mac cheese was could've been a bit more creamy to my liking. Over all it was pretty good
