Abingdon Manor Inn and Restaurant is one of the best bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed in, and we frequently stay in historical bed and breakfast inns. The house and grounds are pristine, the rooms are stately, and the home is filled with original furnishings from 1913. The town is rich in Revolutionary War history, the locals are lovely, and the owner and staff are top notch. Pat, the owner, is brilliant and full of fascinating surprises. Our restaurant servers, Helen and Samantha, were delightful young servers dedicated to meeting our every need, and Chris, the sous chef, checked in frequently with us to ensure that we were satisfied with our meals. The food and wine were excellent, and David, the chef, came out of the kitchen to chat with us about our dining experience and fill us in about local events happening in this quaint little town. We met two local civic leaders, Bobbie, the recently retired sheriff, and his wife, Eleanor, a retired elementary school teacher and current head of the foundation for the performing arts in town. We'll definitely be returning and look forward to experiencing the transformation of Latta from a wonderful travel stopover spot to a destination location. Stay tuned!
On our way up North we spent a night in the Abingdon Manor Inn. We got a warm welcome by the owner Pat who gave us a historical tour of his wonderful around 120-year-old property. Our room was spectacular and spacious with all possible comfort. We enjoyed cocktails prior to our dinner in one of the beautiful parlors. We were then placed in the sunroom with a wonderful view of the garden and the sun-set. The six-course dining experience prepared by Chef Pat was outstanding and delicious and was served by very attentive and well trained young ladies. Pat also offered a wide selection of high quality wines. The cherry on the cake was the breakfast which was exceptional. We were so happy in the Abingdon Manor Inn that we stayed here again on our way back to Florida. Pat and his team did a wonderful job and for sure we will come back again to this great place.
We had a lovely three day stay at the manor.
Our host, Pat was very attentive to our needs. With the recent development of food allergy problems, I was apprehensive of a stay that involved so much food prep, but Pat catered to my needs and the six course meal was a wonderful worry free excursion into fine dining delicious in its preparation and served with the elegance of an era in the genre of the house. He greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house and told us interesting facts about the house’s history. And we enjoyed discussions with him about the future plans he has to enhance the Inn’s future.
We had quite an enjoyable time!
I challenge you to find a speck of dust. This immaculate historic mansion is like staying on a movie set. Spacious, beautifully appointed rooms from bottom to top only 10 minutes from I-95. The staff and menu bring Southern hospitality to life! Perfect for a couple's getaway, stop over on your way to/from FL or a corporate event.
We had a lovely time at Abingdon Manor! Pat and his staff were delightful. The property and our room were beautiful and well-appointed. Latta is a cute small town if you're looking to relax for a night or two. We ate dinner at Abingdon, and it was also delicious!
My family and I selected Abingdon Manor as the location for our father's Celebration of Life service. The proximity to the interstate and to the cemetery, ease of arrangements, all inclusive pricing (set up, service, clean up, refreshments, all of it), ample seating and beauty of the home and property made it an excellent choice. It was a lovely afternoon. Thank you Abingdon for helping us celebrate Daddy, relax with his friends and relatives, and leave the work to you!
We had a great visit to Abingdon Manor. Staff was friendly and engaging, but allowed us our privacy. The entire manor was well appointed and beautiful. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast, and our refined taste buds were delighted. This was a special find off the beaten path, and we recommend.
Romantic overnight with hubby to celebrate our anniversary. Couldn’t have found a more romantic spot. Great food. Good service
Wonderful experience. A real gem!

We took my mom here for the 6-course prix-fixe dinner. Wow! What a great experience! We were greeted by the owner, Pat, who was very friendly, and given a little tour and history of the nearly 120-year-old house. It was beautifully decorated and very grand and spacious. We had wine and chatted in the parlor before dinner. Dinner was served at 7pm and we were able to sit in the sunroom with a great view of the garden and watch the sunset throughout dinner. Each course was timed and proportioned well, and of course, very tasty. Worth every penny! We highly recommend this unique dining experience!

A great respite from the awful chain hotels off rt 95. About 10 minutes (6-7 miles) from the highway, but well worth it. The house itself is beautiful with a steep history to the early 1900's. We stayed in The Red Room, which was spacious with a private bath & great shower. We stayed here 1 night on our southbound commute to our Florida home, thus got up early to head out. For those folks looking to sleep in, the nearby early am freight train may hinder that. Parking was right outside the house which seemed very safe. The food is also a standout in an area that is again, 99.9% dismal chain food. Lastly, but not least, the proprietor is gracious & welcomingRooms: Large rooms w private baths

We returned to Abingdon Manor because of our first visit several years ago. On arrival we first noticed the house was dull. Everything needed painting, at the very least cleaning thoroughly. The beautiful house just looked dull. We sat and waited for someone to arrive to check us in. 15 mins after our appointed arrival time our ‘host’ arrived, and explained that he forgot to put the AC on in the rooms ( at the height of summer(!) and rushed off to do so, leaving my husband and I and two other couples waiting again. Pat, the new owner reeked of smoke … and his lackluster attempt to give us a history of the place ( while the AC kicked in upstairs) was given like a teacher who’d rather be at home. The room was lovely, with new bathroom. But the air conditioner with its hose hanging out the window was as noisy as a cheap hotel. The 6 course meal was a good try…..but nothing my high school kids couldn’t put together. Two young girls serving were very sweet, but so inexperienced for the manor that we visited years before. Breakfast was an audible gasp from all. Scrambles eggs, burned bacon, and badly cooked hash browns. That’s it. Before we had Crab Eggs Benedict with stuffed mushrooms et al. One last thing. A cocktail gathering was set for 6:30pm. No one showed up!!!! Everyone attended this during our last visit. The hosts were wonderful and interactive. We never saw Pat again until it was time to pay $$$$ Very sad. The house has so much to offer, and in the right hands could be a hot spot in SC
Well it seemed like something out of a story book. We had the Inn to ourselves since no other guests. I felt like a princess without my prince. I came for an event with my girlfriend in the area. Pat gave us total access to property and educated us on the rich history. I was so amazed at the original pieces and how well preserved. The bed was comfy and food was amazing. I've already made reservations to come back with my husband. Our new hidden gem in Latta South Carolina.Rooms: I loved the oversized fireplace, comfy bed and spa like bathroom.Safety: There are plenty of cameras on the property. The only thing watching you is the birds.Walkability: Doing a morning stroll is no problem and the scenery of all the house built in that era.

The Inn is not what it used to be. A new owner purchased it in July 2022. The inn is still beautiful but the meals (breakfast and dinner) were just average while they were exceptional under the old owner. The new owner is a smoker so the back of the inn reeks of smoke. It is no longer worth the cost of the stay
Everything was fantastic: atmosphere, 7 course dinner, breakfast (good delicious), helpful . Definitely recommend a stay at Abingdon
