We were visiting in the area and had mult people recommend RootimentarySo we decided to try it for dinner one evening.glad we did! Everyone in our party had a steak and it was agreed that these were the best steaks we have ever had! The truffle fries are amazing, as well as the mashed potatoes and the grits. Our server was excellent and everyone there was so friendly! Wished we lived nearby so we could go back and try other items on the menu. We will definitely be eating here again if ever through this area again.

My In-Laws live in town and we love meeting them there for a fantastic meal. Local, farm-to-table Southern Classics with a modern twist. If for no other reason, Rootimentary is a great reason to visit Laurens. Plus you may get to see my In-Laws which is always a pleasure.

We dined there as part of our anniversary on Saturday evening. Total party of 6 for a 5pm reservation. We were the first one's seated that evening. The service and atmosphere were fine no complaints. Really the food was good too overall. Two of our party had the Ribeye Steaks and I really can't remember how they liked them so I'll just comment on the other 3 dishes we had. First my wife and a gentleman in our party both had the Meatloaf Wellington. Both said it was very good and I agreed. Different spices in the meatloaf but very good, I'd say 8.5 out of 10! One lady had the Short Rib Pappardelle and said she would call it a 7 overall so not bad but not outstanding either? I had the Shrimp and Grits. I really enjoy this dish and will routinely get it at different places. I'd call it a 7 overall. It was never going to be an 8....might have rated it 7.5 but the grits were WAY oversalted. They would have been inedible by themselves. However the positive was that the tomato sauce tended to lessen the extreme amount of salt in the grits and helped to balance it out. So overall? Not bad I'd say slightly above average but not a place that blows you away.
I ate the best steak Ive had in years. The wait staff were very friendly and the establishment was clean. I can’t wait to be back!

While in town for work I’d stumbled upon this place and - I don’t say this lightly - eating here has been a religious experience. My bank account is made more safe by the distance between this lovely establishment and my home. Rootamentary, I’ve fallen hard for you. You are worth every bit of a two and a half hour drive and we WILL meet again. Sweet potato bread pudding, where have you been all my life?! Food, excellent. Service, superb.

Jess and Caleb hosted my mom's 90th birthday bash, and couldn't have done better. They were so easy to work with, had great ideas, whipped up a vegan meal with no complaint and turned what could have been a stressful event into pure fun. The restaurant is beautiful, the food excellent and innovative, the service attentive. This is a jewel in little Laurens, SC, folks.

We love Root. Been a few times, service is always incredible and the changing menu is really exciting and always good. Watching the chef and cooks work in the back of the restaurant is really cool. It puts most other restaurants in Laurens to shame. It would be right at home in downtown Greenville, but it's here! Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
What a gem in Laurens. One of the best meals I've had to date and hope to make this a regular visit. My wife recently went with friends and raved so much I had to try.Miracle provided friendly, personable service from reservation to table service. I loved learning about the background of the Owners, the short history of the restaurant, and Miracles personal story and enthusiasm for it all. This would be worth the drive from the Upstate!Brussel sprouts were the best ever and could be a main course or dessert. Salty, savory, sweet all in one bite! Short rib and duck were both perfect. Desserts were equally as good, and pricing fair for what we had.Run don't walk! This will be in my top 3 restaurants in the upstate. Thank you!
