The wines are incredible, but the atmosphere is what you want to stay for! Each wine tells a story and Shannon is a most excellent story teller! Over 20 years in the business and I pray that God blessed him with many more!

My wife purchased a tasting for 2 for our anniversary. Shannon is a delightful host and skilled wine maker. He is a congenial conversationalist who takes pride in his work; he freely shares his knowledge, and his 'reserve'. Go with an open mind; his wines are sourced from an array of fruits and extracts; grapes, currants, blackberries, apple pie, and raspberries are just some of his offerings. Close your eyes, and you will experience a taste of Port, Bordeaux, Kir, Merlot, Cabernet, etc. My wife does not drink; she thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and selected 3 bottles of his stock to take home. High praise!

My husband and I passed by a sign for Mercer House Winery on a recent vacation to Lake Murray. I had spent the week prior looking for things to do, so it came as a surprise! I made a reservation for a tasting for the two of us this past Sunday, and we had a wonderful time!
Shannon is a wonderful man with lots of fun. Great stories. He had a laughing the whole time - it was definitely worth the experience with him alone, with the added bonus of his wonderful wine creations.
I highly recommend booking a tasting to get out of the Sun and try something different. The wines are all very unique and we ended up bringing home several bottles that we fell in love with. Definitely worth the stop!
