Saturday night/ 8p reservation for party of two celebrating my 40th birthday. The building is interesting… however we quickly began to enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere almost immediately after sitting down. The food was spectacular, the drinks (French 75) were the perfect amount of strong and our server was super sweet and knowledgeable. The timing from arriving to being seated… to receiving water then cocktails, then entrees was perfect for a Saturday when every single table was full. 10/10 highly recommended.

Perfect old timey feel. This place is a little tucked away when you first arrive at the GPS location but if you head towards the backyard you will find it. Gumbo was delicious and they take their time preparing the food right. Will return to this restaurant for our next date night.

Wouldn’t go back. My wife and I tried this place several years ago based on a friend’s recommendation, and had a bad experience. Food was really good but our server was lousy. Brought wrong side dishes, talked way too much about her personal drama and the food wasn’t cooked right.
Went back tonight, food was good, the room we were seated in was absolutely waaay too noisy. So much that my wife and I couldn’t talk across the table to one another.
This is not a quiet romantic place. This place is like Texas Roadhouse but twice as loud. If you know that going into at least you are prepared. We used a $125 gift card that was sent to us by the manager for our bad experience previously, and spent another $60 for like $180. I’d be so angry if we ate and had to pay the full $180 for dinner.
Food and service were wonderful. We enjoyed the fried pimento cheese, Cajun popcorn (spicy), Caesar salad, garden salad, hand cut pork chop, redfish, shrimp and grits, mashed potatoes, stoned-ground grits, fried cream corn and delicious red wine. As you can read, we tried alot! All were very generous portions and entrees were a beautiful presentation. We had reservations but did have to wait about 15 minutes for our table for 4. Yes it was worth it! Cozy old home with warm atmosphere. A must try!

We’ve been coming to private property for years . The last few times our steaks have been grisly expensive and a great treat for our dog. Cheryl the manager has suddenly become somewhat hostile obviously not liking negative remarks. Our celebrations will no longer be at this restaurant .. 190.00 plus warrants better food better customer service .. 10.00 off if a bad steak ???
