Great food and atmosphere. Shrimp and grits and crayfish etouffee was soooo good and the portions were huge. We both had enough for dinner the next day. Have been there several times and each time we are impressed. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

My fiancé and I decided to come to Private Property for his birthday. We dine quite often and the food was phenomenal as always! However, our service was awful this time around. We ordered our bar drinks and appetizer at the same time and the appetizer came out before the drinks. We ran out of water and bar drinks twice as our waitress would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. We both ordered steaks, and the young lady who brought them to our table told us she would bring us steak knives back. She never returned, meanwhile our waitress was again MIA and didn’t return to notice we didn’t have knives until we were half way through eating our streaks with the knives provided in our rolled silverware. We will definitely be back for the food, but hopefully service will be top notch next time as it normally is.

My husband and I had a wonderful date night thanks to a Great experience at Private Property. The food was excellent! My husband had the blackened ribeye which was so tender and juicy. I had the scallop special which melted in my mouth. Delicious! We had the warm bread pudding for dessert....yummy!I can't forget to mention Sara our waitress. She was wonderful! Helped me make good choices and was So sweet!

Recently had dinner at Private Property. Live near by and had not eaten here in years. The food, service and drinks were off the chain. Spicy red snapper was delicious. Just the right amount of spice and perfectly cooked. Appetizer and dessert just perfect. Great staff and service. Will be back.

Great food, slow service. Asked to leave after complaining.Story: My wife and I went here for our anniversary as we like to do for special occasions. Service was slow. It took about 30 minutes for one of the bartenders to notice us flagging them down to refill our drinks. After our second round, the same thing began happening and we began mentioning the slow service to one another. We were quiet, but started to become increasingly assertive about it. From the looks of the other guests at the bar, we were not the only ones being ignored. They gave us our food (no drinks) and said that we had been “cut off” since we were “loud, cursing, and had been bragging about how much we had to drink before getting there”. We hadn’t had anything to drink before getting there, so that topic never came up in conversation. We each had two cocktails.I suspect the bartender overheard us complaining about the service and became offended at our complaints. My wife spoke to the manager who was visibly upset and we were asked to leave. The bartender then added drinks onto our tab that we hadn’t even ordered. She hadn’t been adding our drinks to our tab as we ordered them and she decided to just make everything up as she cashed us out. She gave me a receipt and I told her about the drinks on the receipt that I had never ordered - she said that she would not take the drinks off the tab but that she would reduce the total amount by more than the cost of the drink. I didn’t really understand the logic behind that so I just paid and left after that.I had to call up a few days later and mention that we were overcharged for our drinks. They were nice and respectful and gave me a refund for what I had been overcharged.Hopefully this situation was some sort of unlucky combination of stressed out staff and poor work habits, but I will not be coming here any more. Fortunately, this area has lots of great restaurants.

The service is top notch and the food is amazingly delicious! There is not a bad dish on the menu but I’d recommend the gator bites, blackened steaks, and the traditional Cajun dishes. Definitely make reservations!Parking: Park across the street in the church parking lot for less hassle.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but this is definitely more of an adult date night place than for your kids.

Brad is such a nice, courteous, and knowledgeable bar tender. He makes the best mules and is attentive to the patrons. He's also very good at helping you select entrees! We will definitely be back, suggesting reservations.

Amazing! Worth the drive for us. Probably not many would complain about a too strong drink, but it was. Expect amazing food and expect to pay for it. Terrific service.

So, my wife and I went to another restaurant in Columbia for our anniversary, we were disappointed in how it turned out so decided to give it another try the next night. We picked Private Property as our second go, glad we did. Our experience was a 5, the food was excellent, hot, and delicious. The alligator was spicy and yummy. The she-crab soup, mmmm. Our pasta entrees were perfect, and the bread pudding was the best bread pudding I've ever had and one of the best deserts I've had in a very long time. The ambiance was very nice, located in a historical home with each bedroom it's own little dining room with a few tables. The drinks were also superb. The service was good, we didn't have any problems, but it was the least memorable part of the night, nothing special. We will definitely be back!

Very nice upscale restaurant with many different Louisiana inspired dishes to choose from. We enjoyed the relaxed dining experience and never felt rushed. Highly recommend for date nite or special occasions.

Came here with a party and have to say I was disappointed with my meal. The Redfish was hands down one of the worst fish dishes I have ever had. There was no discernable difference between it and an army fried tilapia. Besides the fish being God awful the rest of the food was good. I will say the lavender gin drink was overwhelmingly delicious I sadly had to drive or else I wouldn't have been able to stop.
