Big Ben's Desserts And Ice Cream

The absolute, best desserts, hands-down. Everything is definitely homemade, the banana pudding is fantastic. I’ve been to a lot of dessert places and typically everything is just too sweet for me and I can only eat one or two bites, but not here….for the cakes, they are sweet, but not overly sweet and so moist. Icing is like a buttercream with the perfect amount of sweet and melt in your mouth texture. I never leave reviews, so this place must be pretty good lol. Just a random day ordering desserts on DoorDash because I was craving something sweet…. didn’t know I’d end up finding my favorite sweets place. Thank you!!! Just want to add, that Keylime and strawberry cake is phenomenal !

This review is long overdue. I first found out about this place from a relative who bought my husband and I both a slice of their Butter-pecan cake. From that first bite, we were both sold!! Since then, we have made several trips over to their shop, and we have tried other varieties of their cakes as well. Each slice of cake shares similarities; they are all made with love, very moist, and simply delicious!! I have already recommended this place to my family and friends!

I would like to start by saying I have zero problems with the food. My family over the years have come to really enjoy the great tasting desserts you provide. Thank you for that. My issue of concern was with the sequence of events that occurred on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving day of which I am certain I am not the only one. We ordered a cake in advance for Thanksgiving. We were told to come pick it up Wednesday at any time before close of business. Due to the fact that we were going to be out of town, my son took off work so that he would be able to pick it up for us. I called the store around 1pm and they said it was not ready and they would call me when it was. I referred the information back to my son. It was around 430 and I got concerned that maybe they'd lost my number since I hadn't heard from them yet. So I called and a gentlemen answered and when I proceeded to talk to him the phone immediately hung up when I asked about the time the cake was going to be ready. I called back because I just assumed it was just a bad connection and spoke with a woman. She explained to me that they had over 100 cakes to bake and that they don't freeze anything. It's all fresh. I told her I understand I just wanted to ensure that my son was aware of what time to be ready since it us 30 minutes away and they were closing at normal business hours. She said she would give us a call back when it was ready. So imagine my concern when I call back at 740 and you're closing at 8, because no one has contacted me yet about the cake. Also, I knew that you were not going to be open Thanksgiving day. So, when I called back there was a young lady that answered and began to tell me that they would call me back to let me know if I should pick it up tonight or at 12 tomorrow. I told her I thought you would be closed on Thursday. She said yes but we're going to open up for the extra orders. It took a whole hour later, for her to call back, which was also 45 minutes after closing, for her to tell me to pick it up at 12 tomorrow. I want you to understand that I am extremely understanding of things happening. I was never rude to anyone of which I am certain your staff probably got an earful. My son took off work to get this cake, only to be told we could've picked it up on Thanksgiving after a whole day of receiving the runaround. When I picked it up there was a lady with a baby handing out cakes which I am almost certain purposefully done as no one is going to yell at a lady with a baby. My concern with the situation is not that you bit off more than you can chew but not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience. This was the best showcase of poor customer service I have ever seen. Not one person apologized. Not one, including the owner! One of the worst feelings as a paying customer is to be made to feel as if you have inconvenienced a business by buying that product. That's what you and your staff did. If you don't want apologize to any of the customers that were affected individually then make a public post apologizing for the poor service. I am not asking for anything except that. To me that's the very least you could do.

Absolutely love the BANANA PUDDING and the PINEAPPLE CAKE!!! But the pineapple cake needs more pineapple juice lol. My dad's is addicted to the banana pudding. Y'all know his truck when he pulls in at this point lol. Great customer service and great environment.

Everything was delicious! We got a piece of cinnamon roll cake, red velvet cake, butter pecan cake, and a bowl of bannana pudding. The ladies were very nice and friendly. We were visiting a friend in town and she was adamant we had to give them a try! We were not disappointed! Nice local gem to try if you are in the area.

Great ice cream, nice selection and big portions. Great value. Staff was amazingly helpful. Cheaper than my custard shop. Nice! Definitely be back!
