Big Ben's Desserts And Ice Cream

Went in 30 minutes before closing wanting to get 1 quick ice cream to go. Walked in to multiple employees rolling their eyes and no greeting. Walked right back out. Been looking forward to trying here but sadly was disappointed by the obvious annoyance at customers.I would understand closer to 8 but this was at 7:30.

I was Very excited and looking forward to visiting this ice cream shop. Upon entering, I was asked “what can I get for you” two times before I even made it to the ice cream to look at the different flavors. Ordered a cake cone with one scoop of turtle tracks. Paid $5.68 for one scoop of ice cream to sit on top of the cone. At this point, I’m letting it melt a little bit so I’ll have some ice cream inside of my cone as well! Will not invest another penny into this place.

Girl working here argued about the price that she over charged me.

I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake for my sons birthday with only 24 hours notice, the ladies were super friendly and had no problems taking the order. This cake was probally the best cake I ever had in my life. The cake weighed ten pounds, it was moist, the butter cream was rich, creamy and delicious. Big Ben's deserts will be out go to for now on for our families birthday cakes, thank you all so much!

I’d like to share my family’s glowing review of Big Ben’s cakes, which will tell you what Ben Hall makes, and what he does. But then I would also like to share something I personally experienced that will tell you WHO BEN HALL IS.😊
We had a fun “cake tasting“ party with kids and grandkids. Everyone had different favorites.🥰. Some of the top favorites were the Key Lime Cake and the Butter Pecan Cake. One fun fact is that one family member who said that they never enjoy chocolate cake ended up ranking Big Ben’s Oreo Cake as their top favorite! That tells you how especially delicious it is!
Everyone also loved the traditional Birthday Cake/yellow cake………so, a “sweet” time was had by all!
Now let me tell you something about Ben Hall‘s character. I am a senior citizen woman who was traveling alone, changing planes in Charlotte, and headed to Greenville.
That connecting flight was delayed over and over and over again as the day wore on. Ben and Elaine (who I had never met before) were booked on that same flight. While I was exchanging a brief conversation with them at the gate, the flight got delayed AGAIN, and Ben stood up and said, “That’s it, I want to get home, so I’m going to rent a car and drive”. Then he looked at me and said, “You coming with us?”
I was startled at first and didn’t know how to answer. Should I get in the car with “strangers“ just so I can get to my grandkids this day and not be stuck in Charlotte? Elaine said a few things to ease my mind and assured me I would be in good hands with she and Big Ben Hall! So I went with them! Ben rented a nice car, and we had such a pleasant drive together to Greenville, South Carolina. Ben would not let me contribute to the expenses at all, and made statements like, “This is just how people should treat each other.”
I, and my family, were very grateful.
Ben Hall, and Elaine, are good people indeed!

Lovely place to stop if you have a sweet tooth. My all time favorite is the banana pudding. Probably have the best in the entire state of South Carolina. Anytime I visit back home I always have to stop by.

Great place to go if you can't get in the door at 3:26PM. Read all all about the place and how great it was for everyone else. Drove 25 minutes out of my way to get to a locked front door.

This is the best cake around! I ordered the banana pudding cake but I’ve also tried their red velvet and pineapple. They’re all so good!! They have the real deal red velvet, that’s hard to find. Great customer service and cute atmosphere!

We were excited to support this local business for our organization by ordering three dozen cupcakes and a dozen pineapple upside-down muffins for a noon pickup. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the warmth we were hoping for.
We arrived right on time, and when a staff member appeared, she seemed visibly annoyed by our presence. After letting her know we were there to pick up our order, she made a call and informed us someone else would be bringing it shortly — so we waited another 20 minutes.
What could’ve been a simple pickup turned frustrating due to the attitude of the staff member. Her dismissive behavior and lack of helpfulness throughout the interaction overshadowed the entire experience. Even when resolving a clear mix-up, the reluctance and annoyance were evident, leaving a negative impression overall.
That said, the treats themselves were delicious, and it’s clear the bakery takes pride in their quality of desserts. It’s just unfortunate that the customer service did not reflect the same level of care. A little more attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism from the staff would have made a big difference.

3 stars for the desserts, better customer service could make it a 5 star business.

My wife ordered a waffle bowl and there was only one left, which the wonderful lady behind the counter said looked a little off, so she offered to make my wife a fresh one. Everything was great from the service, to the price, to the bright, cheerful atmosphere and of course the delicious ice cream. Speaking of ice cream, the scoops were huge. Big Ben's is the perfect place to take your kids on a hot summer day. They also make cakes, cheesecake, and some other desserts that we will have to try some day. I think we found a new favorite ice cream place.

Tried this place on a whim and it was.a wonderful find. The butter pecan cheese cake is a must try! It is delicious. The young man running the counter was really nice and we where greeted when we came in. It is such a nice place, going to bring my godson soon to have some ice cream he will love it.

Great cakes! However, the website stated $37 for a keylime cake I ordered. I was charged $49.
