My husband and I have been regular customers at Los Mayas for quite some time. We’ve enjoyed many meals here, ordering both food and drinks, and for the most part, the food has been consistently good. I also love to support local businesses in my community, so it’s important to me to give my money where it helps our area thrive. I’ve even made a point of telling my fellow Latino friends that Los Mayas is a good place to eat with quality food — but after my most recent experience, I will no longer be doing that.
As a Latina, flavor is very important to me, and I always enjoy having different sauces with my meals. I don’t mind paying extra for sauces — in fact, I prefer to, since the complimentary ones don’t always suit our taste. Today I ordered two plates of fresh fish tacos to go (around $40) and asked about getting some additional sauces, even offering to pay. The woman at the counter assured me everything was already in the bag. When I checked my order in the car, this wasn’t true. I went back inside and kindly offered to pay $10 just for sauces, but I was met with attitude, dismissive questions, and reluctance before finally being given some.
It left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which has unfortunately been a pattern during recent visits. At the end of the day, if customers are willing to pay, it shouldn’t be such a challenge to get something as simple as sauces — especially when they’re visibly available. For us, the atmosphere and treatment have outweighed the food, and sadly this will be our last visit.
FYI if anyone ever wants a different sauce than what they give you for free, it’s $1 per sauce.

We eat here at least once a week. We have always been pleased. This week, we ordered and I said later I would like to order food to go on a separate ticket. We had left overs after sharing Texas Fajitas and she asked if we would like a box. We said yes please. She brought us 2 and said in case you need it. I ordered 1 APC and 2 Chick bur to go. When we rec' the food, they gave me an extra ACP and it was on the ticket. Brought 1 ticket and had to go back to change it. When we rec' the correct tickets, was charged extra for both boxes she gave us. Which prob would not as big of deal if we were charged for the 1 we asked for or if we had been charged prev for boxes. Also, soft drinks are $3.25 which is to high esp when you have to ask for a refill. Not sure if we will be going back.

Well, let me tell you about my recent trip to Los Mayas Mexican Grill, and boy, do I have a tale to spin! Picture this: I stroll into this lively joint, the scent of sizzling fajitas dancing in the air like a mariachi band at a family reunion. Right away, I could tell I was in for a treat.
The decor? Oh, it’s like stepping into a fiesta! Bright colors, sombreros hanging on the walls, and a giant piñata just begging for a good whack! I half-expected a taco to jump off the wall and start doing the cha-cha. You know it’s a good place when you feel the spirit of the fiesta as soon as you enter!
Now, let’s talk about the food. I ordered the classic chicken enchiladas, and let me tell you, they were so good I almost did a little salsa right there at the table! The chicken was tender, smothered in a sauce that was a perfect mix of spicy and savory—just like my old chili recipe, but with a flair that would make even my grandma proud. And don’t get me started on the guacamole! It was so fresh, I half-expected the avocados to start singing “La Bamba.”
The service? A+! Our server, Maria, was as friendly as a golden retriever, making sure our chips never ran low and our drinks were always topped off. She had a smile that could light up even the dullest of dad jokes!
