Best bbq i have ever had. The brisket was tender the cornbread wasn’t too dry the lemonade was perfect and not to mention the staff was super friendly and welcoming. If it’s your first time there they explain the whole menu to you and overall this is an amazing place to eat 10/10 definitely recommend!

The food was the absolute best I've ever had. The people were so nice and just happy. You can tell that they love what they do. All the customers had smiles on their faces from the great food. At one point we ALL interacted with each other not knowing each other at all. People came from Greenwood and Union to eat here. Love it❤️

From the day I saw a vignette of the business, highlighted on WYFF News 4 during Black History month, I have been eating there from that day forward. The food--AWESOME!! The beef brisket and it's sauces ate da bomb! They deliver food of high quality at a great cost. In other words, one gets bang for his buck! I've basically eaten everything on the menu and everything is fantastic!! Freshly made, too. Whole Smoke is a well kept secret in Mauldin. One small note: When driving to the location pay attention to the signage, as the logo on both the marquee and building is too small. So look for TEXAS BBQ in large black bold letters on a white background with a gold circular logo on it. The owners need to improve the logo signage on bothParking: Ample and adequate!Wheelchair accessibility: Flat surface from handicap parking to front door.

Great Southern Barbque. When we entered we were greeted by Heyward. We told him that it was our first visit. He was patient and helpfull as we decided our order. I had the brisket dinner and my girlfriend had the 2 meat combo with ribs and brisket. The brisket was very flavorable - even without sauce. I had the vingear on the side. Oh, if you like hot, the spicy pintos are not to be missed. My girlfriend noted that the collards were also exceptionally good and her ribs were flavorfull and meaty, The dining room is nothing fancy - just a large room with tables and chairs and a linoleum floor. However, it was clean and pleasant. The prices were reasonable. A great lunch for the two of us with drinks was around $41 with tax. I look forward to our next visit.

We’ve tried lots of bbq in the Upstate. They even rank higher than the commercial bbq chains here in the area. This place is all-around the best in terms of availability and variety of product offerings, consistency, service, price, and culture. My company always orders the brisket for our team which is the fan favorite. The loaded barrel potato meal is a wonderful bang for the buck for an all-inclusive homemade meal for $10 which is very tough to find in this current economy. All-in-all we’re going to bet on Wholy Smoke above any other bbq companies around. They’ve got the season and flavor.

First, service a little slow for food that is already cooked. They had plenty of people for a counter service place. Restaurant was clean and neat.Food: I'm from Texas and have eaten at most of the top 50 places in Texas ranked since 1997. I go back several times a year and catch up on the new places. I judge on the meats not the sides. I liked the sausage because I tend to like the finer texture. Great flavor. The brisket was confusing. It was sliced with the grain which I have never seen, ever. That makes the meat stringy and even though tender, harder to cut (brisket should not need to be cut). It was obvious this was good meat, just not right. Had it been cut cross grain, I think it would have been great. Creates a much more tender slice that pulls apart. Just way too weird for me.The sides were decent. Believe them when they say spicy pintos. Liked the cornbread.

Got the loaded barrel (baked potato) and it was everything i could've asked for.. the mac-n-cheese hit the spot... the pickles they gave on the side were sweet and had a nice crunch to them. Will be revisiting.
