Off the beaten path… Homemade bread and fragrant olive oil was delectable. Housemade dressing on the tossed salad even made the frisée palatable. Simple, crisp first course. The star was the Mahi Francese! It was perfectly prepared and melted in my mouth. The accompanying roasted asparagus was perfectly al dente. I have eaten a lot of fish in a lot of restaurants and this may just be the best I’ve ever had. I have to go back someday to try their pasta. Cappuccino and a shareable portion of icecream with berries topped it all off! Highly recommend.

Met friends there on a recent stay for dinner. The food was excellent. We own an Italian restaurant up north so it is really hard to please us when it comes to eating out at an Italian restaurant. What a wonderful surprise how delicious the food was. The homemade pasta was perfect and the sauce was authentic. I highly recommend eating here.

Stopped in tonight with my wife and son had never been here before but found the staff to be friend and efficient! The food was awesome both entree and dessert!

Was looking forward to it, but was totally disappointed. Chicken Parm was on the menu but it was on specials as well. The spaghetti that came with the parm hardly had any sauce in it and it was very dry. It was also luke warm. The chicken was dry and tough. It did not seem like a breast. To get the salad and the food took an hour. The kitchen was extremely slow. The lady that served us was very polite and excellent. She kept apologizing.

I was very impressed with the Bacco Italian restaurant when I first entered. Just driving past this establishment, looking for some place to eat lunch, I was certain I made a good choice. The restaurant has a pleasant interior with white tablecloths on the tables. We were seated and served promptly and everything was delicious. I had gnocchi bolognese, which was perfect and came with a nice Greek-Italian salad and bread. The food exceeded my expectations. Service was excellent. The beer list included Peroni on tap. So, while just looking for a place to eat, we discovered a little gem north of Charleston. I wish I lived closer (I live in Virginia) so I could return.

Terrible experience. My wife and daughter made reservations for Easter brunch. We arrived after the considerable drive from Goose Creek, canceling reservations at several other restaurants because we wanted to support a local non franchise restaurant and because I wanted to experience a part of my heritage. That was not to be the case however. The menu was not actually a brunch menu but rather a dinner offering. We were seated and that’s when things went poorly. The owner’s father was socializing with those that he obviously knew while we were seated far to the back, ignored. When the food came out the wrong order was placed in front of me. So my family proceeded to eat while my hastily prepared meal was done. By that time my family was finished and they sat and watched me eat. At no time did the owner or his father come over to apologize, offer to compensate or even look over. I’ve owned restaurants. The classy thing to do was write off my dinner, offer dessert, something, anything to at least acknowledge this. It ruined our afternoon and as a consequence I will never go back. I will also go to great lengths to tell this story repeatedly. Unprofessional, aloof and disgraceful. Overpriced as well. Just an all around bad experience. The walls are in need of paint, the restroom is dilapidated with nowhere to hang a coat. Enough. They are surviving on past glory and regulars who they obviously smooze. Enough.

Excellent, excellent, excellent this is Italian food not Italian American food. You will not be disappointed unless you call Olive Garden Italian food!

What can you say. Everything in this place is scratch and amazing. Shows how great simplicity is. Classic Italian at its finest

This was our first visit to Bacco and it was outstanding. My wife and I both had the chicken marsala wrapped in prosciutto. It was so delicious. The cannolis for dessert along with the limoncello after dinner liqueur was the perfect way to finish a beautiful Italian meal. Can't wait to go back and try the other entrees.

My wife had the pappardelle. It was outstanding! The home made pasta is superb. The atmosphere is nice. I however was somewhat disappointed in the Shrimp Scampi. The pasta was great too much lemon but the most egregious mistake for this dish is that the shrimp (a key ingredient) was cut-up into tiny pieces! Absolutely unacceptable Chef take notice. I will go back however I will not order this dish. We also ordered the "roasted olives" thinking they would be more robust in flavor. Well what we got was hot pan tossed olives! Hot from a pan. Very strange! We took them home, they were much better cold as they should be.To be clear, this is a very good restaurant, I just think they need to rework the scampi to include full size shrimp (not cut up). And, Fire Roasted olives should be just that, not heated up in a pan.

Unlike the other Andrew below me, I don’t think there are any egregious mistakes by the chef. Excellent food and fantastic customer service. Only a fool would consider a chef’s twist on a seafood dish as a mistake. 10/10 would recommend absolutely.

Many other reviews have been talking of the ambiance, and that quality of the food is very authentic. That is not what I experienced at this restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant reminds me of my Nonna’s house and not the one one who knew how to decorate. The sauce from our food tasted like it had been sitting in the bottom of the pan for too long, it was acidic, bitter, and metallic in taste. We received a meatball that was undercooked. And the tiramisu was small and tasted like it came out of a freezer. The things that have saved this review from being one star is that literally everything was very good. My drink, the Boulevardier, was on point. The eggplant parm had a wonderful texture, it was well seasoned, the cheese was melted perfectly. The polenta was great. The brisket was pretty average though. Overall, 3/5 I’ll probably only come back here by accident but I wouldn’t immediately leave.

SAVE YOUR STOMACHS! The service was absolutely horrible. I could not believe how poor it was. our server brought us COLD bread. Only once. While everybody else was getting bread we sat for 15 minutes waiting for more bread that was COLD. The food was disgusting. The noodles tasted like ramen with a bunch of lemon on it. The shrimp tasted like rubber. The lasagna was nothing but eggs in it and sauce.. I do not recommend this place at all!
