I recently ordered a cake from Bakies at Ion, and I’m beyond impressed! I had a last-minute request, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate me. Not only did they manage to fulfill my order, but the cake itself was absolutely stunning. It was delicious—moist, perfectly flavored, and beautifully decorated. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into each creation.
The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, making the entire experience stress-free despite my tight timeline. I will definitely be back for more, and I highly recommend them for anyone in need of a special cake or dessert.

I am SO mad at myself for not getting a picture, but I ordered holiday boxes for my clients. I told Gail my budget and asked for 20 boxes. I asked for her advice of what sweet treats these boxes could consist of, and I essentially gave her my complete trust because she filled them with a mini loaf of pumpkin bread, the best Mexican wedding cookies I have ever tasted, small pecan bars, 2 large royal icing sugar cookies one saying happy holidays and another a tree with snow and ornaments, chocolate chips cookies, oatmeal cookies and others I can't even remember. To say the least the boxes were an absolute hit with my clients.
She has also in the past made cookies with our company logo for a colleague of mine and they came out perfect. If I could give this bakery 10 stars I would.

While in Mount Pleasant, I always make it a point to go by Bakies! Came in almost at close wanted a different icing on my cupcake she custom delivered. It was absolutely to die for you've got to come see this Bakery huge selection of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, peanut butter balls! You name it, they've got it!

I recently needed a last-minute cake decoration for a wedding and had a bit of a disaster with another baker. That’s when I reached out to Bakies, and they really came through. The team was super helpful and got me exactly what I needed on incredibly short noticed. I called them around 10am and had a beautiful cake at 11:30.
The shop itself is beautiful, and they’ve got a solid selection of cakes and treats to choose from. They really know how to take care of their customers, and I was impressed with how they handled everything. They are a special group of ladies.
If you’re in the Charleston area and need a cake, definitely check out Bakies. Great service and quality all around.

I ordered a custom cake with chocolate cake and chocolate ganache filling.. the cake was $133.00. When we cut into it, it was confetti cake with vanilla frosting. I left a message and emailed the owner with no response. Very disappointed to say the least!

I'm writing about my experience with this bakery at the North Charleston Wedding Expo. My partner & I (same-sex) attended the Wedding Expo not sure how welcome we would be, but just about every vendor we met with were really kind and helpful...just about all of them except...Bakies at I'On...
I tried a sample of the lemon curd cake and browsed through the menu. I didn't see the one I wanted (lemon-lavender) so I asked the person offering the samples if they could make it. She said she didn't know, but to ask the chef who was helping a young woman. The chef was very polite and inquisitive to the young woman, asking her which venue she was having the wedding, the date, etc. When she was done, she looked passed us even though we were standing nearly directly in front of her, as if we didn't exist. Finally I said "are you the chef?" to which she replied a deadpan and dismissive "yes," end of discussion, she seemed done with us. No small talk, no asking when the date was, which venue we chose, etc. I asked for a sample of the Raspberry Chambourde, which she gave me and I asked if she could make a lemon-lavender cake, again deadpan and dismissive "yes"...no follow up, no "take my card and let me know what you're thinking," etc...
I honestly am not sure why she treated us so different, dismissive, and uninterested in our business. It may be that she wasn't interested in serving the LGBTQ+ community, but to be honest, I can't say for sure if that was the reason. What I do know for sure is that I didn't like being treated as less than other potential clients and that's why Bakies at I'On will not get our business.
I ordered custom cookies for a book club. They turned out so cute, and delicious! Sometimes custom cookies can turn out dry, but these were the perfect consistency and tasted fresh and moist! Thank you! Everyone loved them!

Thought I could trust the reviews but just ended up VERY DISAPPOINTED FOR MY ONCE IN A LIFETIME WEDDING... I was very specific with what I wanted and the reference pictures I sent. (Pictures attached) They said they could do what I was looking for. I requested "til death" on my cake, turned out looking like "til dooth" because it was so squished together. They added glitter to the cake and cookies without me requesting it and without even asking if I wanted it first. They also added a border around the cookies without asking me if it's something I wanted. The lady was very rude when I asked for a refund for the cookies, I brought them all back untouched. Unfortunately I had someone pick the order up since I was busy getting ready for my wedding. I texted her immediately after I saw the order, of course I didn't get a response. I paid $90 for 15 cookies and $110 on the cake that didn't even turn out how I requested. Rip off. Lady said she adds glitter and border to all wedding stuff. That's not the case on her social media and website.

For the cost, the birthday cake was very average in overall quality!The ganache was not a classical bittersweet as I had requested. That is, it was too firm and dull looking (not a proper glossy and creamy one ). It was also made with cocoa (pronounced taste and mouth feel) and not bittersweet chips/bar with heavy cream (36% fat) ; the cream giving the necessary unctuous consistency and taste to a proper ganache! Our local Harris Teeter store makes a better one!The cake was an average cocoa one; nothing special such as a genoise, etc, for instance.I would not use them again which is too bad as I had expected Better.
