Shrimp Pad Thai had a weird taste of tomato paste , noodles were saggy. We were not impressed.

Atmosphere was really nice. Wonderful date night spot. Food was good, but felt kind of Americanized.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. Had a table by the window overlooking a small pond. They appeared to have outdoor seating in warmer weather. Menu was clearly labeled with gluten free options which included several appetizers and decent number of entrees. They did a great job accommodating my celiac disease. My husband and I tried the pad thai that came with chicken and shrimp and massaman beef curry. Both were excellent!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options were clearly marked on menu.

Don't know about the food. Got sat at a table and waited 25 minutes. No one came by to even take a drink order so we left.

Basil Thai is a popular Thai restaurant in a beautiful little shopping area in MtPleasant. It is a spacious, tastefully decorated restaurant with a view of a retaining pond. The service is excellent, as was the food. I was impressed with the quality ingredients. Portions were generous. I recommend getting reservations as it filled up on a Friday at 5:00.

Came to this very neat restaurant for dinner. We started with the Coconut Soup w/chicken which was very good. I had the Basil Duck, and they give you plenty of food. My wife's dish, Beef Salad, was also good.

We ordered carryout. I had a satay, soup and beef salad. I was terribly sick after eating the food. Full purge. I called the manager to inform them so that perhaps they could have a look and prevent it from happening to someone else. He proceeded to tell me all the reasons why it could not have possibly been their responsibility. Not one bit of empathy.

Went for an early dinner on Wednesday night. First, the restaurant is beautiful and clean. Got a lovely table by the window over looking water. They do have outdoor seating as well. Would of sat outside but there was a little bit of rain. Our server Caleb gave us the best service we have had in the last 10 days of traveling. They have a full bar, nice wine list and specialty cocktails. We ordered the beef satay, steamed dumplings and papaya salad. The dumpling and papaya salad were excellent. Beef satay was okay. My daughter ordered the green curry with pork which was okay. Our basil chicken, house special pad thai and shrimp fried rice were fantastic. The service was attentive, professional and friendly. Service has gone down over the years. Plenty of servers these days don’t provide any. A lot of them have what I call bish resting face. They don’t smile or provide service yet expecting a 20 percent tip. The lady that checked on was was very nice. I think she was the owner. We have been to their other location 4 years ago in northern Charleston which we thoroughly enjoyed. That’s why we came to this place. The only reason I didn’t give 5 star for the food is the meat are always tough at every Thai restaurant we go to. Almost all Asian restaurants marinate their meat with baking soda, corn starch and eggs to make the meat tender. Thai restaurants doesn’t seem to do that. That being said, the seafood will always be the safer bet. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area. We are going back tomorrow night for some takeout. Just gonna stick to ordering seafood dishes. Shout out again to CALEB for the great service.
