The shakes and sandwiches were good but the prices are pretty high. Also the staff seemed annoyed/unhappy and were not very nice. Overall not the worst but not the best either.

Will return every single time I am called to work in this area! Been here twice now & the food is EXCELLENT, staff is AWESOME, super clean & its all around a great place to eat! Can't beat the coffee either, everything is made to absolute perfection. I give it 100%, A+, 10 out of 10 stars!!

Awesome food, atmosphere, and service. Try the party melt, it's pretty close to perfection!

Breakfast and coffee were good but listen... it is pretty expensive for the this "not so fancy" place. The atmosphere screams fast food.... not even, a cool diner vibe. Listen, we don't mind paying for a 5 Star, high end breakfast/experience but this is not that place. You get in a line and order at the counter, like a fast food place. They give you a number to place on your table like, at some fast food places. You sit yourself, like all fast food places. The only difference is you get your meal served on a real plate. Not worth the extra $20 to get a real plate. Again, the food and coffee were good but way over priced for the location and vibe. Our order... An egg and bacon (no cheese) breakfast sandwich, a bowl of grits with an egg and bacon, 2 coffees and a Diet Coke... $38. For that amount, we could have gone downtown and really done breakfast right.

This place used to be Aya's Cookhouse which truly had the best ramen in Charleston. I was very sad when they closed. Now remade into Betty's Diner and under same owners so I dropped by one day to pick up some breakfast. You order at the front, pick a table, and then someone brings the food out. Line moves quickly. The avocado toast caught my eye because it had basil pesto which I love. The strawberry milkshake was also highly recommended so I got that too. The food took a lot longer than I expected to come out. I thought the milkshake would come out first since it's pretty quick to make, but by the time the avocado toast came out, they had only just started on my milkshake. The strawberry milkshake was super pretty and delicious. A bit sweeter than I liked but very smooth and creamy. I believe it's made with Cirsea ice cream/gelato, which is truly some of the best I've had in my life. The avocado toast.. I expected more with an 8$ price tag. It was very salty. The underlying flavor was good, just overpowered by the salt. And they used just a regular thin piece of bread when so many places in Charleston use more substantial and flavorful locally baked breads that really add to dish. I'm not sure if I'd come back for the toast, but I'd definitely be back for the milkshakes. They also sell Cirsea ice cream by the scoop for 4$ and by the pint? for 10$, which is definitely a splurge that's worth it.

Went in to try something new today and was very rudely greeted by the man behind the counter. Basically we were told "get out of the way" and make room for others. He made a few other very negative comments to his coworkers also. We put the menus down and walked out. We will not be back. What a shame.

We got there just in time before the line started growing and we could understand why when our food found us at the table. Absolutely delicious and great service.

This is a great place to come an eat. It's the only place that we visited multiple times on our trip. Everything we ordered was fabulous. Nice 50's malt shop dinner feel.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Work close so go every week at least once. Get only half hour for lunch/breakfast and they have me in and out with time to spare. People working there are always very pleasant and efficient. Debated about posting review because it's the best kept secret and wanted to keep to myself. Can't be selfish so finally shared review on this extremely clean, accessable and great little place. Some might think little pricey but after eating there, I think they will agree it's worth every penny!!

Came here for brunch. Saw it was a cute diner type gem. Always trying to find a new spot for breakfast. The front counter girl was super nice and seemed excited to see us. We ordered coffee and tea, French toast +chicken, create your own with pancakes. Then found out seat (you order and they give you a number). The coffee was mediocre and they offer only fake half n half in the cups which I hate, so I ordered a milk. Overall the coffee was just not good which is huge for a diner in my opinion. The food came out really quickly which was great. The French toast was a must have, but the chicken was really not great. It had dry flat breading that tasted like it had been frozen and the chicken was rubbery. The build your own had pancakes which were large in size and fluffy. Eggs were over easy as ordered but the sausage was a patty that tasted like cardboard. Did not eat it. Biscuit was hard also. I think this place has a lot of promise, but overall sad to say I think the food was just not worth the cost.

This place is super cute tucked away in a market plaza. Its an order at the counter type establishment. I really wanted breakfast but wasnt in the mood for something traditional, so I ordered their burger and added a fried egg to it. Quite frankly that should be a regular menu item! My husband did the traditional breakfast, with the mac n cheese and french toast. The mac was so-so but the French toast was tasty! We also split the vanilla milkshake. I was a bit disappointed in the slow service. We watched as multiple groups who arrived after us got served until we finally got our food. I may go back for the burger again but otherwise I tried it and crossed off my list.

This is our new favorite place for breakfast while we are visiting Charleston! The service was impeccable. My 8 year-old son had the biscuits and gravy and said, "it's like taking all the best food in the world and putting it in the blender and then eating it!" Adult's had the home skillet with eggs over easy. The yolk running over the potatoes, peppers and onions was heavenly. The other two kids had the French toast and the loaded pancakes. My favorite of the two was the French toast. Very comfortable dining atmosphere with capacity for outdoor dining. Highly recommend!

Betty's Eatery is a great find. After traveling by car for 3 1/2 hours we were hungry and Betty's delivered. My daughters raved about the pancake w/ bacon & the grilled cheese w/ fries. The shrimp and grits were okay. The grit bowl was good but I feel the house-made sausage needed more seasoning/spice. The milkshake was delicious and Instagram-able. Service was phenomenal from start to finish. I'd definitely get here again.
