I was nervous to eat here based on the previous reviews. We ordered a pizza, cheeseburger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and a kids chx nugget meal. All was delicious except for kids meal. We ordered it to go and ate in the room. Food was easy to order over the phone and was ready when they said it would be.

A Disappointing Experience at High Tide Restaurant
Overall Impression: My family and I dined at the High Tide Restaurant, located in the Embassy Suites in Mount Pleasant, last night. We were very excited after seeing the crowded hotel lobby, assuming the restaurant must be fantastic. Unfortunately, our high hopes were met with significant disappointment, leaving us with a very poor opinion of the establishment.
Service & Ambiance: Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly bartender, which was a nice start. However, when we were seated, we were surprised to find only three tables occupied, which immediately raised a red flag. Our server promptly brought water and took our order. I ordered a glass of wine to start, along with a cheese pizza, burger and wings. After about ten minutes, I realized our server had not returned with my wine and was instead casually talking with the cook in the kitchen. I eventually went to the bar to get my own glass of wine. When I returned, the server came to our table and sheepishly admitted he couldn't remember what I had ordered.
The Food: The food was the biggest letdown. The burger I ordered had a strange, weirdly clumped texture that was unlike anything I've ever seen. I took one bite and decided I couldn't eat it. I tried to get our server's attention multiple times, but he was too busy chatting with other employees. Finally, as my family finished their meals, he came over. I explained that the burger was inedible. He had the audacity to offer me a to-go box, which I refused, stating that I would have ordered something else if he had been more attentive. He did, however, remove it from our bill. The cheese pizza was messy and completely flavorless. The wings were the only saving grace, but they were very basic, and it's hard to mess up plain wings.
Final Thoughts: We had hoped for an amazing meal, especially since the hotel is located in Charleston, a city known for its incredible food. It's a shame that a restaurant in such a prime location could be so awful. My family and I realized why the packed lobby had no interest in the restaurant: they likely know from experience that the food is not good. While the hotel may prioritize renting rooms, it's a huge disservice to their guests to have such an awful dining option. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.
Delicious Ribeye steak cooked to perfection. Friendly service & beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend!
The food was terrific. My friend and I sampled each other's food and each dish was great. Nice atmosphere and the service was great. Definitely will go back.!
Some entrees were good. My salmon Caesar had some brown tinged romaine. Salmon was overcooked. Service was great.
First off let me start by saying our waitress Katie was fantastic! I had no issues with her or the service we received after being seated. My issues come with quite literally everything else!
It’s Valentine’s Day and I have a background in F&B, so I completely understand that holidays can be tough for all involved. Even still, the restaurant was not busy. We had a reservation, but still had to wait 45 minutes to be sat. Tried to grab a drink from the bar while we wait, but that took 15 minutes to accomplish.
The fried green tomato appetizer was ice cold. The French onion soup was cold and the croutons were extremely soggy (couldn’t even eat more than 2 bites). And to top it off the steak was rare although ordered medium, missing the asparagus side that was listed on the menu, and clearly not cooked over an open flame. For what we just spent on this dinner, we could’ve gone to Hall’s, Oak, or High Cotton and had a real steak dinner. My mistake for wanting to venture out and try something new.
All in all, this was a complete bust and ruined date night. Luckily we are Charleston foodies and have been able to experience MANY wonderful restaurants in town, but today we just wasted $200 on a meal that neither of us finished or enjoyed.
This place is in desperate need of good management, and a full refresh. The hotel lobby is beautiful, but the restaurant felt like we were sitting in a holiday inn free buffet, with bright lights and cheap floral carpet. Atmosphere is a crucial part of a nice restaurant, and sitting in High Tide made me feel like I took my girlfriend to an Applebees for Valentine’s Day instead of a downtown/mt pleasant dinner spot.

Even when you have a reservation they do not honor it and ask you to wait for more than 35 minutes. The restaurant was empty but still they don't honor the reservation. Look somewhere else if you wanna eat

From start to finish, this was easily the worst restaurant I've been to in Charleston! I didn't finish any of the 4 courses because they were all cold and unappetizing. We waited 45 minutes to be sat even though we had a reservation. Waited 15 minutes for the bartender to stop having a personal conversation and serve us $20 drinks while we wait for our table. The dining room ambience felt like we were eating at a free buffet in a cheap hotel, with bright led lights and unappealing floral carpet, and cheesy decor. Not at all what you would expect from the entrance into the hotel lobby. High Tide was by far the worst $200 I have spent at any restaurant. Do not waste your money!
amazing dishes and wonderful staff
Service and atmosphere was fine. Accommodated well to kids. I ordered the Charleston Restaurant week menu and the main course was pretty bad. I ordered the 4 course special and the dip and pints were fine along with salad. The main dish was all wrong besides the underwhelming hockey puck of a pork chop. It came with not only the wrong sides but everything was cold including the pork chop. Dessert provided was also wrong. Kids meals were fine. I'd order the burger next time and call it day.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant! We were looking to try somewhere new and I'm glad that we did. My husband and I had the BEST dinner last night, the Fall Harvest Salad and Seared Salmon are to die for! The decor beside is beautiful and the service was on point! We will definitely be back!
SOOOO GOOOD! and every one was so nice. from the check in, to the bartender guiding me, and my waiter serving me! LOVED it!

Waited several minutes to be seated in an empty restataunt. Keep in mind, we has a reservation, we were the only people in line, and several staff members saw us standing there and did not acknowledge us. After being seated, we waited again. Once we were finally waited on in the empty restaurant, the service wasn't terrible, but not high quality either. Prices were what was expected but food was cooked about the quality of a meal I would cook at home. I am an ok cook, but nothing to get excited about. Waiter didn't bring steak knives with steak dinner. He said we wouldn't be needing them as the fillet was always tender. We ended up needing those steak knives. Wine was excellent. No ambiance whatsoever. This was New Years Eve and our Wedding Anniversary. We made the best of it and shrugged off the issues, ate and left immediately. No lingering over a great meal. Will not go back.
Great timely mannered!!!
