The first clue should have been a weekday at 8:15am and no one at the window. Working people go where the breakfast is good, tasty, and considered a value.
I frequented Johnny's for years, then my route changed and the visits stopped. Something has changed. In the past a cheese, egg & sausage was something I looked forward to on the daily. Fresh, savory and a kaiser roll.
What I got today was two microwaved, tasteless egg patties, a thin, bland sausage patty, all covered with melted yellow American cheese, microwaved and delivered on a hamburger bun.
If the sandwich I got today is your taste preference , good on you. If you're looking for something a bit more authentic with fresh eggs, a savory sausage patty on a kaiser roll, you may want to pass to avoid being disappointed.
The sandwich was hot, prepared quickly.and service was friendly.

Solid for the most part. $10 for a small breakfast burrito and cup of coffee seems steep for a joint you walk up to a window with no seating, etc. Went 2 times now, doubt there will be a third.

Great spot, hot dog was amazing! Everything here was really fairly priced, I went with the regular hot dog with pickles, jalepeno, ketchup and mustard. I couldn’t recommend it enough the bun was soft and the hot dog was perfectly cooked!

Johnny's Hot Dogs is a convenient stop en route to visiting historic Boone Hall Plantation and Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, across the Cooper River from Charleston. Located at 883 Ben Sawyer Boulevard, it deep fries its hot dogs in peanut oil before dressing them with regular toppings like mustard, relish, onions and pickles. No ketchup, please. But Johnny's, which is open from 7 to 3 Monday through Saturday, goes an extra yard and then some. It has 40 available hot dog toppings. That's right, 40. Have you tried Johnny's Route 80, which features every topping on the menu? There are other tasty options, including the Boar's Head all-beef chili dog, the Taylor pork roll, the sausage dog, Haddrell's Melt with Ovengold turkey, bacon, provolone cheese and mayo on grilled sourdough bread and an Angus beef cheeseburger, with a 1/3-pound beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, relish, mustard, ketchup and onions. With a menu like this, Johnny's Hot Dogs just has to be listed on TripAdvisor's website.

We come here to scratch the hotdog itch! It’s never taking 10 minutes food. Usually closer to five. Great local spot.

Pretty good place. I got a hotdog with ketchup mustard and relish. It wasn't amazing, but I'd go back there for a quick lunch. It's a little outside place, there isn't any indoor seating. You order at the windows and wait for your food. Wait time was as expected.
