Ill be honest. I come from foodie family from pakistan. This place is appears to be Pakistani street food, but the food doesnt hold the standard. I got papdi chaat and beef kebab roll and all you taste is cilantro. Naan was not real naan. It was more like pita bread. The kebab was not pakistani kebab. It looked like bunch of ground beef in a roll. Only thing good about papdi chaat was the papdi rest was over boiled chicken peas with sour yogurt. I had high expectation but another tourist trap.

The food was amazing. A whole new level in Pakistani cuisine. If fact, I have had Pakistani dishes from all over the world including from Pakistan and Makila is by far the best. The service was also second to none. Our waitress, Lauren was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and quick to answer any and all questions. This will quickly become our annual go to place.

Pure Excellence! Our server Lauren was amazingly attentive and enthusiastic about our visit! We asked for dairy free dishes and had the Cholay Biryani, that was served with a spiced fried potato patty, and instead of the yogurt sauce we enjoyed the Tamirind chutney. Lauren also informed us that yogurts are a big part of the Pakistani cuisine, and they marinate all their chicken in a spicy yogurt sauce. I give this restaurant 10 stars! Great service, great comfort food, great experience! Compliments to the chef!

I was excited to finally try Malika for the first time. My husband and I went today for lunch. It was an overall disappointing experience. We explained to our server that we are vegan, asked about specific menu items, she made recommendations on what to order. Our appetizer was barely warm, same with my main, but the flavors were pretty good but not something I would order again. My husband's food was hot but bland and mushy. Both of our entrees came to our table with raita on our plates despite the dishes being labeled vegan and us making it very clear that we are vegan. The dishes came out looking quite different than expected and I almost thought she brought the wrong items. Our server did not ask how our food was, I had to stop to tell her we weren't happy with it. When I pointed out that our mains had raita on the plates our server just apologized but offered nothing to correct it. I also told her my food was barely warm and she didn't seem to be bothered by it, just said she'd tell the kitchen. We left most of our food uneaten, paid and left. It was one of the poorest customer service experiences I've had at a restaurant.

My recent visit to Malika Canteen in Mount Pleasant was a letdown. Despite the promising menu and cozy ambiance, I found the dishes overpriced and the quality lacking. The simplicity of the meals did not justify the steep prices. I expected more for what I paid, especially in terms of flavor and presentation. Sadly, I left feeling disappointed rather than satisfied.
Very bad experience. Quantity of food was surprisingly small compared to the price. I got 3 tiny gulab jamuns for 8 bucks!
We had to wait a very long time to dine in, for no reason. Some tables were empty without reservations. After all these waiting and spending 65 bucks, not satisfied at all. Taste was okay.
Never again. Thank you.

My son loves this place, so I wanted to see what all the fuzz was all about. A very tasty alternative to all the other same old cuisine in Mount Pleasant. I loved the Lamb Wrap, Chicken Pizza, Naan Bread and Rice. I ordered spicy, which was very spicy, so be aware when you order food here. The service was friendly and warm. We will be back.
We had an incredible experience! Our food had the best flavor and our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable regarding the dishes and spices! We will definitely be returning!
