Mario’s Peruvian Chicken is a hidden gem in Mount Pleasant! I had the 1/4 chicken with coleslaw and yuca root fries, and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, with that signature Peruvian flavor that’s hard to beat. The coleslaw was crisp and refreshing, and the yuca fries—wow—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seriously addictive. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. If you’re looking for bold flavors and a great meal, Mario’s is the spot!

A little pricey, but delicious. I was raised on Peruvian chicken being Peruvian. It is so extremely difficult to find a real authentic Pollo a la brasa. It is all in the seasoning and How long it’s a marinated you’ll find a lot of people claiming to be authentic Peruvian chicken and I’m telling you these people right here are the real deal. On that note, they should lower the price just a tad bit. :)

Grossly overrated as to flavor for the price and a look behind the counter is also gross

I ordered a quarter of chicken with fried rice and salad. The chicken was dried. The fried rice, (chaufa) had not much flavor. Salad was not good either .

We order from Mario’s once a week because the chicken is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, our order is incorrect more often than not — from missing sauce to including the wrong sides and even giving us the wrong order altogether. It’s frustrating to the point that this restaurant is about one incorrect order away from losing our weekly business.

So sad to see this place fall so much. Used to be great, but ever since they opened second location, the Mount Pleasant store has gone down hill. $20+ steak used to be worth it. Tonight it was dry, rubbery and flavorless. The chicken was even drier. The rice was hard and crunchy.

I don’t think I’ll be ordering here any more. So sad.

Only eaten here once when we shopped next door. Our experiences were different. It's mostly, all?, dark meat and I enjoyed it. My wife did not and said she wouldn't eat there again. It was not as tasty as I had hoped. I'd try it again, she would not.
