Bbq was good but not special. The donut onion ring was fun but wish I ordered just one.

The food is always amazing! I really like their brisket sandwich and their smoked turkey meat plate. They also have amazing sides and their onion rings are on point. If you’re looking for a cheaper way, try their patty melt basket.

Great potato salad, baked beans, and brisket. We will be back to try what we hear are the best burgers around.

The young lady from Georgia that greeted and served us our take out was very delightful. However the food was not worth the price. Not only was the serving size small for $18.20, but the potato salad was salty and had too much mayo. The Mac and cheese had something missing. My wife liked her lima beans, and the Cole slaw was good. They put the hash and rice in a small container combined and as cheap as rice is, they could have done much better. The container may have contained a cup of the mixture. And these $18.20 meals didn't even come with a drink. Now on a positive, the banana pudding and pulled pork was very tasty. The golden sauce is good!!

The collard greens was exceptionally good. I had a brisket burger and my friend had the brisket. It is a self service kind of place, but they do bring the food to the table.

I particularly enjoyed the Alabama white barbecue sauce.

We were in town for a medical visit and decided to try something new during our overnight stay in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. After checking reviews, we landed on Melvin’s, hoping for top-tier brisket and mac & cheese.

Upon entering, it was obvious we were first-time visitors confused and scanning the large menu but no one acknowledged us or offered help. It felt like we were left to figure things out on our own, which set a poor tone.

My husband ordered the brisket grilled cheese with a side of mac & cheese. I went with the patty melt and onion rings, with plans to sample each other’s meals.

The food, unfortunately, didn’t measure up. My husband said the mac & cheese was dry and flavorless. The brisket sandwich needed more cheese and was just average, definitely not memorable. As for my patty melt, the burger itself seemed well-seasoned, but the sandwich overall just wasn’t giving “patty melt.” The bread was dry, and I even tried to salvage it with BBQ sauce, wasn’t a good save. The onion rings were massive with a good crunch and tasty batter.

The real standout? The Southern Sweet Tea. That was the only thing we’d come back for.

We paid $38 for two meals, which felt unreasonably high for what turned out to be a letdown. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Wow! I’ve eaten a lot of good BBQ all across the USA, but this place gets my vote for “Best of the Best “. Scrumptious flavor, friendly staff, and rock solid consistency.

The employees were extremely friendly and the food was top notch. We did stop for lunch about 2 pm so it wasn't crowded at all. Definitely will come back another time.

I got the Big D's triple bacon cheeseburger and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! Worth every single penny!!! I'll DEFINITELY be back for another one!!

Reap it! You've going downhill for over a year and finally broke me. I ordered brisket, they heard margarita and dumped salt on my meal. Food here is tasteless except for the salt. Dear GOD, the salt. Portions are good, but the food tastes like nothing. Harris Teeter has better food. The service is atrocious and have an attitude. The cashier is the only nice one. Shut it down, take some business and cooking courses and remember your roots instead of your wallet
