Went to eat there today and was enjoying my meal at the inside upstairs bar when a man walked in from outside where he was sitting with his gf or wife asking for a manager because she was eating her salad and found a dead mouse in her salad. The fact she had been eating the salad already just turned my stomach immediately. They took the plate away (I would have kept it) but they showed me the pictures they took and it was nasty. How no one saw that is beyond me but I will never eat there again. How that happened I have no idea but all I know is with tip I spent $134 and the woman I was with has been nauseous ever since seeing that. She had lettuce on her burger and is worried it came from the same batch. I am guess since the couple hadn’t posted any pictures of this yet that there will be more to follow on this. I know personally that I dont appreciate eating food that came evidently from a kitchen like that. Up until that moment I was enjoying my meal. I will not be returning to that place EVER again. That was literally a first to see for me. The service was good and people working there are friendly.
We came down for a sunset drink after dinner at Vickery's (it's literally downstairs). Such a nice vibe. You get beach + dock and all the beautiful Shem Creek views without the insanity. The bar was basic but had some options for cocktails that were fairly priced. Atmosphere was nice and even a few TVs to watch any games going on.
I had a mule and I was very pleased with it. We got it to go so we could walk the dock.
If you're looking for a bar on Shem without the chaos, this is a good spot.

Muddy’s is amazing! We loved having a drink and then enjoying the boardwalk. The music was also so good and the drinks were yummy. Bartenders were friendly and they have a Photo Booth! That’s so fun!

Always a good time at Muddy's! Favorite spot to watch the sunset on Shem Creek. Any time clients ask for a solid dinner spot with a view Muddy's/Vickery's is on that list!

I had a really disappointing and uncomfortable experience at Muddy’s in Charleston. I came with my service dog, who is trained and essential to my health. I even showed two forms of verification to the woman at the front (an older lady with a Dixie pixie cut), and still, we were denied entry.
I get that some people fake having service animals — I really do. But what about those of us who rely on them for legitimate medical reasons? What hurt most is how she kept pressing me and questioning my need for him to the point that my service dog actually jumped up to intervene — as he’s trained to do when I’m being harassed or distressed.
I left feeling judged, uncomfortable, and humiliated. This situation could have been handled with more compassion and basic knowledge of ADA protections. I hope the staff gets proper training moving forward, this shouldn’t happen to anyone else. Other than that everything else was amazing we enjoyed the music and food.

Been coming to Vickey’s and Muddy’s for 15 years. No more. It’s romper room. All kids sitting at the bar. Long line to wait for a drink. What a mess this place has become.

horrible food. we ordered nachos that were $14 for stale chips with a few pieces of lettuce. wouldn’t even call them nachos since there wasn’t even cheese! also took forever for them to make such a pathetic little plate of chips, god only knows how dirty the kitchen is too. do not recommend

a coworker, and I went here figuring there is going to be some amazing seafood, but we were unfortunately disappointed. The shrimp tasted frozen. My pasta was overcooked and mushy, and my old fashion was sweet and fruity. Now, the waitress said it was her fault, but the bartenders are told to muddle the fruit, which is not what you do in an old-fashioned. The bartender made me another one, and it was on point because he made it the correct way and the way he was taught, not the way the establishment wants him to. My coworkers jumbila was mushy the Okra wasn't cooked and it was just terrible for a 27 dollar plate. Needless to say, the bartenders were the saving grace. The manager was a bit argumentative and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain why I didn't want the dish we won't be coming back here to eat but maybe to drink.

The location itself is absolutely beautiful and the view is sensational. We wanted to choose a table and it wasn't possible for us to sit where we wanted because the service is divided into sections on the upper deck. The guests after us felt the same way and a wild discussion broke out about what nonsensical crap the allocation of seats there was. We then left the bar after a drink and would have liked to eat something, but with such nonsense we didn't feel like it anymore.
