Muddy's Dockside Bar

The location itself is absolutely beautiful and the view is sensational. We wanted to choose a table and it wasn't possible for us to sit where we wanted because the service is divided into sections on the upper deck. The guests after us felt the same way and a wild discussion broke out about what nonsensical crap the allocation of seats there was. We then left the bar after a drink and would have liked to eat something, but with such nonsense we didn't feel like it anymore.

We were here two evenings. Great location and good sunset views. The food was good, especially the burgers and salads tasted very good. There was also live music there on the second evening. Unfortunately a roof terrace was closed because a door was broken.

I wish I could give zero stars. Today, I came in with a group of 13, and they outright refused to serve us because our party was "too large." We even offered to split into smaller groups with separate checks to make it easier for them, but they still refused, despite having dozens of empty tables. The server tried to help, but the manager was completely inflexible and refused to seat or serve us.

To make matters worse, the manager was rude and dismissive, showing zero interest in customer service or basic courtesy. This place clearly does not value its customers or their business. It was an appalling experience, and I strongly advise against visiting this establishment. Their lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for customers is astounding. Avoid this place at all costs.

So disappointed to see yet another amazing realistic place cave into the tourist trap Charleston has turned into. As a local I was severely disappointed to come to sit and relax and see that they now hire servers and have declared tables for those who will pay. Rather than the free open seating and the chill amazing bar that it was. People have to pay so much here and I came here so I didn’t have to pay to take a sit after work. RIP Muddys ??

If there was an option for zero stars, I wouldn’t hesitate. My family and I visited this establishment on Sunday 6/2/2024. My girlfriend was very unhappy with the item she received. The server took it back and brought the same item out even though she wasn’t happy with it. She then brought her manager out and the heavy set white woman proceeded to argue and told us to read the menu better. I describe the manager in that way because both of they refused to give their names. I have never been this upset and disappointed with a restaurant in Charleston. We will now continue to go to salt water cowboys instead..

Great bar next to the water. Pet friendly, they have corn hole and beach sand. The whole staff is friendly. Highly recommend!!!
