Extremely rude waitress. Brought out an order that was not prepared as ordered (ordered a single smash burger and they brought a double. I don’t care for a thick burger and don’t like one that isn’t well done, hence ordering a single). She came to the table after we had waited a super long time for the order to be prepared (restaurant was empty, not a busy night, it was a Wednesday at 8pm, so an off time) and rudely said “it was prepared in error as a double - we aren’t charging you for it being a double, just a single” and just dropped the basket in front of me. Without asking, she just expected me to accept what I had not ordered. So I said, thank you for letting me know and I’m sorry, but I dont care for it prepared this way.
Before I could even get another word out, she literally took an unbelievable attitude/hissy fit, grabbed the basket of food from in front of me while storming off and saying “I guess I will have it remade” My husband, daughter and I all looked at each other like - what the heck just happened?? It was completely uncalled for. I wasn’t rude in any way and if she would have given me a single second before storming off, I would have asked is it possible to just have the second burger taken off - no need to remake - just pop the second patty off for me and make the single well done. Especially because we had already waited a long time and had a to go order already in for our other child who was home. But instead she cut me off mid sentence before I could say another word and snatched the basket like it was my fault - It was literally outrageous how nasty she was.
We will NEVER EVER go back after the poor service we received and we will make absolutely sure to let anyone know - this isn’t someplace to expect good service. We made a huge mistake trying this place - we were hoping to change thing up and support other local small businesses. However, we will definitely simply be returning back to our normal weekly trip to Dog and Duck - where we always get impeccable service and great food! The Basement was a zero stars experience.

The Basement is an absolute gem! The food is surprisingly amazing - definitely worth trying. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. The bartenders are awesome and add to the great vibe. It's the perfect spot to unwind and have a great time. Highly recommend!

Very rude staff! Maybe this is locals only spot if so post something to let outsiders know to stay away! We asked for condiments while placing order when it didn’t arrive we asked again very polite “may I have some mustard?” Response was eye roll and storm off to get mustard lol then proceedsd to bar to talk to other customers about us. Our folders with change from tab was dropped on table nearby with comment “here ya go”. Just wow wow wow!

Ordered online for pick up, received confirmation via email order was received. I was then assigned a confirmation number with an pick up time. When I arrived to pick up my food the service I received (or lack off service I received I should I say) was completely and utterly disrespectful he had no and I mean not an once of customer service to be honest I did not feel recognized as a person. Its sad because I have had serveral good meals and times at the basement, but tonights experience just ruined my appetite and evening.
