I have been to this Paneras location a number of times and have found the staff friendly, the food fresh and enjoyable and the environment very clean. One of the associates named Kiere was pushing a carpet sweeper and was making sure she swept all the areas including under the tables. She was also very pleasant and friendly.

Service was unbelievably slow...wow.
Staff was wonderful and welcoming.
Had no milk for coffee and very few pastry selections available at 10am on a Saturday. Crazy.

If I could give negative stars I would. Not that this review will make a difference in the customer service in any way. I’m not usually one to write negative reviews but I felt compelled to make sure my score was added to the average. I will never bother returning to this Panera location. I’ve never seen people who could literally care less about their jobs. And hey, I get it, it’s an hourly wage job, we’re not saving the world here… but damn, they could exhibit just a fraction of care or pride in their work.

Today was my first visit to Panera 204967 in Mt. Pleasant. I've been to the Tanger store many times before and the West Ashley store. I thought it was nice to have a store here. I was wrong. It took about 20 minutes to order 2 bagels and cream cheese. There was only one couple in front of us. Couple in front of us found the kiosk ordering system wasn't working so they went to the counter. No counter staff. A baker tried to help. She finally asked another baker to help take orders and she was fine but I had to keep repeating I wanted a cinnamon swirl raisin bagel because she kept saying cinnamon crunch and I kept saying, no and pointing to the swirls. Our bagels were very obviously burned. I pushed them back on the shelf and said I ordered toasted bagels not burnt ones and returned to my table. I was polite but firm. They redid them but chastised me for not specifying I wanted them LIGHTLY toasted as burnt was the default way they prepare them. I was not asked how I would like my bagels toasted when I ordered and as it was my first time there how would I know I had to be specific? There are other bagel places in town and I've never received my bagels burned. It's not an industry standard as far as I can tell. The restaurant is light and pleasant but the pastries in this store look like they came from Costco as opposed to the Tanger store. While I was at the counter ordering a man from the back came and flipped the menu signs from breakfast to lunch even though he could see I was actively looking up at the menu. I won't go back. The customer before us said not to just order at the kiosk without first asking if they even have the item shown on the menu. This store could use some serious remedial training in customer relations and cross-training. It's unfortunate because I usually choose to eat at the Tanger location when I am in that area. I can't recommend this Mt. Pleasant location and I should have read the reviews before going. Just look at the one star reviews! Is there no management in this store? Only the younger baker smiled and was pleasant with us and the couple before us. Everyone else was mute or ignored customers or in my case told me it was my fault. Spend your money at Ruby's Bagels instead or Charleston Bagel.

I have been to over 15 different Panera Bread locations all over the states. This is the worst one. From management, to employees, to the inconsistency of their food.
I was hopeful that they'll get better with time, but it has actually gone worse.

Stopped for a cup of coffee because Panera has great coffee. Instead I got rude service and the worst cup of coffee. Waited for fresh coffee. Asked for fresh coffee. Nothing. I would have gotten my money back but the woman who was at the front when I arrived disappeared and never returned.

Nobody at the counter, had to use kiosk. Order took over 30 minutes and was wrong. Young man behind the counter was non-communicative. He literally would not speak and seemed angry/hostile.

It’s pretty good over there at the staff at the Mount Pleasant location is very friendly and very accommodating. It’s a good place to go when I wanna work remotely out of the office so I can buy myself lunch and a drink.

John Addelia, You should take a minute to recognize your employee Bethany at this location. For close to 2 years I have frequented this location. It is close to my work. In those 2 years I've seen employees come and go here. All the ones that did try to make improvements and struggle to do so. Bethany has only been here a week now, on the first day she filled the hot water that literally hasn't been filled in 2 years. The trash cans have been emptied regularly, the bathrooms are even cleaner than they were before. I'm not sure if this is all Bethany or if she has done a good job leading the rest of the crew, but who you have in place here now is essential for this location. Give her time and I'm sure that this will be one of your thriving spots
