We had pulled pork and pulled chicken platters. The food was good and service was fine. They had a musician singing and playing guitar. He was very good but he was loud. I guess he needed to be louder than the traffic noise. Overall, a good experience though.
The staff made sure we were comfortable and had a highchair available for our eight month old granddaughter. We requested to move further away from the live Musician (who was fantastic but a little too loud to talk and for the baby sitting right in front of him). They accommodated us with no problem as soon as a table was available.
My wife and I had lunch at The Shelter Kitchen. There were very few people there on this Tuesday at noon, It took awhile for a hostess to appear, but she eventually came and said to sit anywhere.

The BBQ chicken quesadillas and the Holy Mother Clucker Chicken Sandwich were generous-sized and delicious. The sweet potato fries were good, but the fried okra was disappointingly fried pickled okra, and we didn't eat much of it. I think that should be described...
