I love coming to Umi. Today is my 4th time and my and my boyfriend are celebrating our 5th year anniversary here.

Bad experience. Food never came. Server/owner became hostile and aggressive when challenged. We decided to leave and server starts yelling that we should pay for iced tea. We left as he is shouting to never come back. I am shocked they remain in business.

Tenderloin steak with rice is not bad. Simple not salty which I like

My wife ate here a week ago for lunch with two friends. Her friends were fine, but she got food poisoning from spicy tuna roll. I’m giving this place two stars because this was our first negative experience and I am hopeful that they will change their sanitation practices.

Best Japanese restaurant in Mt Pleasant!!! Their consistency in quality is top notch. I highly recommend.

Was taken care on snow day. Great

Partner went there for lunch today at 12 and got a rainbow roll. Partner has been vomiting since 8pm and we suspect it was food poisoning from bad fish.
Will not be bad and check ur fish.

Arrived for dinner; sat in.
First the waiter ignored us, then when we asked what they had to drink he mumbled there was a drink menu... hidden behind the soy sauce...
Ordered a green tea and diet coke no ice... got a 1/2 filled cup of ice and diet coke; and a hot oily water with a scent of green tea but no flavor.
When the waiter just gave us attitude because we hadn't decided on what to order after being there for 5 minutes, we decided it wasn't for us.
They tried to argue with us over the drinks and refused to take off the hot water until I started to make a bigger scene.
I don't normally care but if you're trying to charge me $20 per person, you better pay attention to details and be able to actually follow orders.

Will never eat here again. Worst experience ever.

I've come here for years, there were obviously new additions to the serving world and they got in each other's way but it's a learning curve. The chicken was way over cooked as well as the tender steak(not so tender) for a 24$v plate i was a lil let down. I'll be back to try again i will just not order the most expensive thing on the menu, food is better when slower

If you visit, must try good time roll. It is the best ever. Very clean and family oriented.

Fast service and great portions. I always order a rice bowl. The rice has an addictive umami flavor that’s hard to describe. Steak is good but nothing special.

This place is about as average as it gets. Food was ok and service was mediocre. Much better sushi places in Mount pleasant. I was really disappointed in the dinner tonight with my family and will not be returning.
