We totally don't get all the lavish praise this restaurant gets. Bibb salad with goat cheese: goat cheese was a few crumbles on top of a piece of bread. The duck entree: overpriced and overcooked duck, nothing special haricot verts. The potatoes were the best thing and they probably cost the restaurant 50 cents. Baked oysters lost all their juiciness and were too salty. This is not the experience described by others. Sorry.
Incredible food, everything was so delicious. Very nice restaurant with great service. Portions were quite large too. Would definitely come back.

Another outstanding meal by Chef Carol last night at one of our very favorite restaurants! Two of us enjoyed the delicious duck liver pate and special entree salad featuring a perfectly seasoned duck confit leg, poached pear, candied pecans and Gorgonzola over greens. One person in our group ordered and was very happy with the special salad of peaches, tomato, burrata and aged balsamic glaze and the escargot. My husband was very pleased with the mussels w frites and all of us loved the dessert beignets . My very favorite dish at the Bistro is the crab cakes, which are full of lump crab meat perfectly seasoned and are so large I usually have to take one home. I think they’re the best crab cakes in Charleston, a very high bar to reach! Other favorite dishes of ours are the rich French onion soup, all the salads, the flounder maison with a brown butter lemon sauce, Tarvin shrimp, steak frites and the lamb chops. I also have to compliment our server Jillian, who is very knowledgeable about the menu and specials and always friendly and cheerful. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, you’re missing a special meal, but don’t plan on rushing through it. Chef Carol is very particular about her food and it’s totally worth enjoying a leisurely outstanding meal!

Very satisfied! Ive missed Carole since Annie’s closed. It was like coming home to the same spectacular food and wine listings. It was worth the drive from Goose Creek to mt pleasant. We are planning to take friends when they come into town. We had the alaskan cod and shrimp and my husband had cordon bleu. We also had the chocolate mousse. The Cotes du Rhone I ordered was a hit even for my husband who very rarely drinks wine, especially a drier red one.
My neighbor and friend told me about this place and I was so excited to try it out! She said the place was not fancy but served good food.It was a Thursday evening and walked in with my two boys 8 and 6, well behaved and experienced in fine dining...The waitress that was also hosting and seating guests did not approach us instead sent over a gentleman who seemed to be a manager or owner. He came up to us and the first thing he said was,do your kids eat everything? I responded by saying, my kids are world class eaters and have a very sophisticated palette. We sat down, the two darlings put the linen on their little laps as I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir ($20), escargots ($14), bread service, bib salad with pomegranates ($20), steamed mussels with Roquefort Cheese ($32) and Steak Frites ($46).My children ate everything except for the mussels,it had quite a funk as they tried to hide the fact they were not fresh, definitely more closed shells than open. I should have sent it back. When I got home I was still baffled how he had the audacity to approach us like the way he did. I have never experienced anything like that in 48 years.I really believe if my husband was with us that evening it would be a totally different story. I am a Korean-American Chef, local here in Mount Pleasant and never felt so insulted! They probably thought we were tourists not fimiliar with French Cuisine? Even then, you should feel lucky and honored that you have new guests wanting to try your restaurant. I hope the owner reads this and learns to welcome anyone that walks in your establishment. As for me we will not be returning and will not recommend this place. For a very expensive $$$ menu the service and atmosphere did not match. As for the evening, it was a fun date-night outwith my boys with good conversation!Always be kind and never judge anyone-this is a very small town!

Three of us went to dinner. Our server, Phillip, did a great job. We had mussels for a main course, the flounder, and baked cod. All were outstanding. Imported beignets from France served with profiteroles was an excellant ending (one serving was enough for three). We will return!

A must try! Incredible, the restaurateurs have created an exceptional dining experience, putting special attention into everything, from the seasonal-inspired menu, well sourced wine list, and authentic décor. It has all the hallmarks of your favorite brasserie with the home style cooking that warms the soul. The food is out of this world, with incredible local ingredients - like veggies and fish - playing to seasonal changes. Crab cakes, frog legs, steak, escargots are favorites. The sauces, fresh homemade bread, and range of desserts are all a treat. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. Perfect for both special occasions and everyday. A great place for groups.
Vegetarian options: Substitutions are easy in French cooking, the chefs are eager to accommodate all diets.
Kid-friendliness: Large restaurant, with booths that allow for family dining.

Amazing meal! We started with a cheese board which was beautiful with great cheeses and accouterments. My husband had the pork chop and I had a lamb sausage dish. You can tell they cook with love and authenticity. Perfect choice for my birthday!

Ive been wanting to try to place for a while now but I was pretty disappointed. Our shrimp appetizer was a little acidic but very tasty. Our entrées looked slapped together and were covered in sauce. My boyfriend ordered the flounder and I ordered the lamb chops but our server brought me veal. I decided to keep it because she said it would take a long time to get what I originally ordered. All I could taste was sauce. It ruined the mashed potatoes and the green beans were very bland. We decided to try the creme brulee, which is my favorite dessert. It was so burnt. Awful! I expected better for how overpriced it was. We will not be back.

The big screen tv was a put off for a menu that appeared to be fine dining. The portions were too big. One could not possibly eat the plateful of potatoes, green beans and flounder. It was all very good but an impossible mess. Great wine list!A few "tweaks" and it would have been a really nice experience!

Should have known better, approaching tables outside, trash on ground, staff outside smoking. We arrived early so had a drink at the bar, decent drink and friendly manager. They moved us to a table when kitchen opened at 5.30, we ordered appetizers and a leek salad to share, they sent out the leek salad first because the appetizers were taking longer. The Chef was sitting with a table in the restaurant, it took 50 minutes to get our appetizers, they were ok not worth the price. By the time we got the over priced entrees I was ready to be finished. Will never go back, ridiculous price, mediocre food, no atmosphere, waiter pleasant, he couldn't control the fact that the chef was sitting in the restaurant. A review said best French Restaurant in South Carolina, what a joke!!
