Found this little place while visiting Murals Inlet last year while on vacation had to make a special trip from Myrtle Beach to eat there again this year while on vacation. Their food is delicious and they offer a big variety on their Buffett. If you enjoy country cooking you’ll love their food. The service is outstanding you don’t find people like this that enjoy their jobs everyday and make the customers feel welcomed like you’ll find here. I can’t wait to go back again next year. The cook knows what he is doing for sure.. love this place, love the food and am grateful to the entire staff for repeated excellent service.
We went there on our 61st anniversary trip to the beach 2 years ago. We fell in love with the food, everyone was wonderful. We were thinking of driving down for the day just to eat there….it’s that good, it’s a long drive from Spencer N.C. But it would be worth it. The food is outstanding, and IMHO we’ve never found anywhere that good.

My fiancé and I were there for our first time last night and every thing was delicious and very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Most definitely hands down one of the best home cooked restaurant we have gone to. Most definitely will be back soon for sure. The prices are very reasonable for all the food you get and also very clean as well.

The food at back home barbecue is terrible. I don’t know if we came on a bad day or what but the macaroni tasted like water the fried chicken was tasteless. Everything was nasty. I don’t recommend going but give it a try yourself because every comment says it’s good but if you like food with no flavor, give it a try.

On yesterday, Me and a Friend ate here. The wait was less than 5 minutes. The serving line is a lil tight, some of the food was not labeled and the restroom had no papertowels. The food was good and tasty....

We decided while on a trip in Myrtle Beach to try this place out. It was about a 20 minute drive. It was well worth it. In my opinion the fried chicken wasn't worth much. However, the ribs were to die for. I'm not sure what kind of fish was served, but as someone who doesn't normally like fish, I thought it was real good. The vegetables were so-so. For our dessert l we had the apple cobbler. Let me tell you, it was the best I have ever had. Crispy crust, and soft apple center. All in all it was very good food, and the employees were friendly, and they didn't make you feel rushed. It was very much worth the drive to Murrels Inlet from MB.
Dietary restrictions: If you are trying to est healthy this is not your kind of place. It was good ol southern cooking.

It's been a few years since I've been to Back Home BBQ and they held the title of ‘My favorite All-You-Can-Eat BBQ place’ for quite some time. I would highly recommend Back Home BBQ if you find yourself looking for good BBQ in the Murrell's Inlet area.
This time we stopped by on a Tuesday morning at opening in December. The buffet is $12 for an adult lunch and they do accept credit cards. The restaurant gradually filled and judging by the waitress’ conversations, most of the customers are frequent patrons or friends to the staff. I was reminded of the TV show Cheers theme song, as it seemed each person there was known by name. What a nice and welcoming atmosphere.
The comfort food style buffet is plentiful and there is something for everyone here. Everything I've sampled was very good, but as you know by now I'm here to review one item- BBQ Pulled Pork. The BBQ is flavored well, and a tad drier. As to be expected at buffets, no smoky flavor or bark. There are 2 options for sauce, a red vinegar and a mustard. The red vinegar is great and my go to choice. It's sauce like you'd expect to find and pairs great with the BBQ. I cannot say the same for the mustard sauce. In all fairness, I'm not a huge fan of mustard sauce so I'm probably not the best to take advice from. The flavor was fair and very strong with French's yellow mustard.
We enjoyed ourselves and after several plates of BBQ, we left full. Back Home BBQ is definitely worth the trip or if you live close should be a regular buffet stop. Don't look for Sam or Diane, there is an even better cast here. We look forward to returning.
The service was AMAZING!! However the food was WAAAY to salty. The beef stew, dumplings, hush puppies and the breading on the chicken was very salty. We have been here multiple times and never encountered an issue but today was just wow. I drank 2.5 cups of soda just to wash it down. And I usually never finish one cup of soda. I left with a belly ache. I say taste it before you salt it. Hope it’s a one time occurrence. And I assume that flat things in the picture was a biscuit…
