My large family visited for dinner. The service was top notch, the food was fresh and very good, and we had a great time. Everyone raved about their meal, highly recommend!

Great view. Service was a bit slow and place was empty. Food was okay but can you offer blackened everything is just fried and your appetizer menu needs a bit more.

Food was very good. The entertainment they had that night was awesome. He was a solo singer and sang all the songs I love. I love the decor in the restaurant and the outside views of the marsh. Definitely will be back!!

I hate to leave a bad review, but im so sad this is what nances has turned into.
If you’re coming here because you’ve ate here in the past- do not go.
If you’ve never ate here and don’t know what to expect, go for it!
The food is nowhere near what it used to be, the fish had no taste, gritty hush puppies, ect.
The environment is totally different, they pulled a Cracker Barrel by trying to make a low country favorite modern, and it was so much more loved the way it was.
I’ve went here for over 20 years, and I’ll never go back again- but the prices were low, the view is gorgeous, and they have a very cute outdoor area! I just would not suggest for the food at all.
I’m so sorry to leave a bad review for Nances- but they have made a cute cozy low country flavorful food restaurant into a flavorless modern cheap seafood place.

The restaurant was remodeled and the menu changed. They updated their hush puppy recipe and now has a crispier light batter. The portions were generous and delicious.

Marylander here.
2nd time here for my fiance-Its been over ten years though. First time for Me, my mother and my daughter. Our waitress was amazing.
Hush puppies were really good but not what we are used to bc they were sweet.
We all liked the crab dip, my daughter finished it off.
I had Alaskan crab legs with potatoe & corn, I loved it.
My mom & daughter had fried soft crab sandwich with potato salad, my kid wasn't a fan but my mom liked it. My mom LOVED the oysters they had.
My fiance hasn't seafood plater with shrimp, fish, scallops and potato salad..I tried a bite of his food and it was good, just a little fisher tasting than im used to. Potato salad was different than im used to but I took it home and and it later.
Would definitely come back again next time im in the state.

One of our favorite places to dine. You’re always gonna get seafood fresh and hot and love the homemade onion rings. Service is top notch and never got a bad meal in 40 years.

We had a bad experience at this place tonight and left before eating. We walked in behind another couple who were seated immediately. The hostess thenwalked toward us, looked at us and walked by. She reappeared and again looked at us then turned to talk to someone at the bar. When she finally approached us, she asked how many, and I responded two. She then looked at my husband and asked if we were together. We were the only two people standing there and it was obvious we were together. Half of the main seating area was empty but she seated us in a remote corner of the restaurant at a table that was not set up. There was another table at the window with a nice view that was set up that she could have seated us at. We looked at one another and walked out. We can't say that it was racism but it was a very weird, negative vibe. Not a place that we will spend our money to support
Walked in and sat at the bar—place was slammed, but the bartender was working solo and absolutely nailed it. Service was fast, friendly, and spot-on, even under pressure.
The fresh oysters from the coast of Virginia were some of the best I’ve had in a long time—perfectly chilled and super fresh. I also ordered a pound of boiled hot shrimp, and they were delicious—seasoned just right and cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was an upper-end beach vibe with an amazing view—exactly what you want when you’re by the coast.
Will definitely be back!
