This is the pulled pork plate I paid $40 for tonight….not what we ordered! By far the worst pulled pork we have ever had! Paid for 2 lbs of pulled pork and got a 1 1/2 pounds of sauce…Disgusting ?
We had the whole place to ourselves and the service was top notch. The bbq was amazing. They have 3 bbq sauces to choose from. Tomato base, vinegar base, or mustard base. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.
We ate at Pop Pops 3 years ago at a different location and it was delicious. Was a little nervous to try this one because of the latest reviews, but decided to anyway. So glad we did! Still the best BBQ around! The fries were homemade and so was the Mac and cheese. We will definitely be back!
To start, the tables were dirty and the place wasn't clean. We almost left then and I wish I would've. We try to order and several things they were out of. We ordered and then didn't get the right food but we ate it because we didn't want to wait again. The bbq was not great and lacked substance. No smoke flavor to the meat at all. The bbq tasted like something you bought at the store. Sweet Baby Rays is better. We paid and left. Then a few hours later, the food didn't settle well. Let's just say it came out quicker than it went in and neither of us feel great. We are locals and this was the first and last time we will eat there.
Have been to other location before! This location was not as great as our first trip. Enjoyed the food and will return on later trips
Came this evening with a few friends to eat. Let me tell you how tasty everything was! I'm a hard person to please when it comes to eating food, but everything was so delicious.Thank you Joe for making our tummys happy & full! And Angie our server was so sweet & kind.Definitely coming back once I have permanent residency here.
BBQ was ok, brisket was extremely tough. Chicken bog had extremely way too much saffron in it. BBQ beans were good. They were out of quite a few things but that is to be expected following bike week. The most disappointing thing and reason why I gave two stars: my mom paid for all of the food. Once we looked at the receipt, we realized EVERYTHING on the receipt was at least a dollar more than what was on the menu, at least a dollar. Service sub par.
great service, great peoole
Went at 4:45pm on a Thursday night ribs were not ready. We got the last portion of brisket 16 oz, beans, and slaw had to pay extra for rolls 48.00. The food was good.IF YOU ARE A BBQ PIT YOU SHOULD HAVE BBQ READY.
We love this place! My son has special needs and will barely eat anything and he and I split the Viking platter and I’m lucky if I get two bites. The meats are always cooked to perfection. I don’t know how he does it. The brisket is so tender you can break it apart with your tongue. And the ranch bacon potato salad is so yummy. The owner comes out and speaks to all the guests to make sure they enjoy themselves and Suze is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Great lunch and happy hour specials. It is our favorite spot in the inlet. 10/10 Recommend!

Just Okay...I'm hesitant to post a negative review about BBQ as we all have BBQ we like and BBQ we like, well, not as much. I'm local and the first time in this place I ordered a pound of BBQ and a pound of Brisket to go, With a tip I was out the door at $50. When I arrived home the portions looked somewhat small but I did not place it on a scale or anything but I did have the thought... "thats expensive" for what I have but I guess BBq is expensive per pound? The one thing I noticed is I guess the cook or server had loaded up the top of my BBQ and Brisket with lots and lots and lots of extra BBQ sauce.I'm not use to seeing all the extra sauce on top with other places and I prefer a cup of sauce to add to my taste. I try to somewhat avoid excess sugar and with all the extra sauce on top, my BBQ was loaded up with sweet...I'm no BBQ expert but I personally prefer vinegar or mustard bases, less sweet BBQ but like I said above we all like one kind or another and if you like your BBQ on the sweeter side this may be just the place for you!The only real complaint is the brisket was as much as 60% or more fat. This is expensive BBQ so I was a bit disappointed about that fat content. I see in another review it is suggested that brisket has fat ( I love the fat taste but not this much fat) and that you can request a lean cut, I did not know about being able to request a leaner cut until now but I would suggest you do request a lean cut if you order the brisket.I like supporting local places and I wish this place well and much success...
The best beef brisket around. Prices are very reasonable, friendly staff and bartender. A great variety of things to eat. Even the pickiest eater will find something there they like. Happy hour 3-6. Go see Kim and enjoy the food and the company.
Sooo, this is really hard for me because I Absolutely love PopPop’s BBQ! I come from New Jersey every other weekend during the summer months but haven’t been here since October! I make sure Pop Pops’s is always my Go To! I brought my daughter in law for the first time and was RAVING about the pulled pork and loaded Mac & Cheese and All of the Sudden we go in Saturday Night (the 26th) and get a rude bartender that thinks we drank too much before getting there! I placed a dinner order and put $10 in the jukebox! After 5-10min I ask her about the food and she says she’s not serving us! I said ok, we didn’t ask for drinks? We wanted to eat! She said no you have to leave! I’m not serving you anything! We were 3 females looking for BBQ! I am appalled! First of all, we weren’t “Drunk” we had some cocktails but we were far from drunk and we definitely didn’t act rude or out of hand at all! I bring the pork rinds home for my father everytime I come and I just don’t know what to do! Everyone usually knows us when we go, idk who this girl is but she is ruining your reputation! And you know owe me $10.00! I hope it’s fixed cause I wanna go for bbq and I’m actually scared to go in there because I don’t want to face that girl again! We left and went to Suck Bang Blow! Bring My Favorite Place Back Please!!!!
This place was amazing, the food was hot, brisket pulled apart when trying to grab it! The pulled pork was perfect and had the most amazing flavor. Simply delicious and the service was really quick and good with a great atmosphere!
