Am a couple of weeks late on this. Went to the Murrells Inlet River City on December 30th. Enjoyed a really good black n blue burger! Was using a birthday reward from ToastTab and unexpectedly got a chocolate peanut butter pie ice cream for dessert. Layton was an exceptional server! Spot on service throughout the entire meal. Fun little place on the tourist track. Great value for the meal tbh! Jam packed place so it got loud easily but we still enjoyed ourselves and we not rushed to leave when done with meal.

The service here has absolutely fallen off a cliff. You can tell something is dangerously wrong when every other restaurant in the area is booked solid and this place has the seating availability of an abandoned mall food court.
Ironically, they still couldn’t manage the four customers in the building. It looked like they were attempting to run an entire restaurant with two people and sheer optimism. Spoiler alert: optimism is not a substitute for staff.
We were seated, and from that moment on it was clear no one was coming back. No water. No greeting. No “hey we’ll be right with you.” Just vibes. After about 15 minutes of sitting there watching the staff sprint between tasks like contestants in a game show called Who Forgot to Hire Anyone, we realized we had accidentally joined a social experiment.
This is especially disappointing because we’ve been here before and it used to be great. Now it feels like a restaurant in the middle of a quiet quitting phase. I genuinely felt bad for the two people working — they were set up to fail — but as a customer, I’m not interested in paying to watch a slow-motion operational collapse.
We eventually got up and left, unnoticed, which honestly felt on brand. If you’re short-staffed, close sections, limit seating, or pause service. Don’t just seat people and hope they age into patience.
One star for the memories of what this place used to be. The rest of the stars apparently didn’t show up for their shift either.

Thank you Kara at River City Cafe. That was a great burger. Perfectly executed To go order at the end of our meal. Onion rings as big as a Bundt cake! Lots of good options, friendly service and tasty beers.

My family and I had a wonderful time eating here. Our server Layton was great and very nice. The food itself was delicious, filling, and the menu was filled with a variety of delectable options. They offer free peanuts and allow you to keep your decorative cup! Such a cool atmosphere with fun decorations and lights too. I would 100% come here again the next time we visit the coast and recommend it to anyone.

It is an charming lil hole in the wall place with a Rt66 feel
My favorite burger place in the area! I'm a fan of their bacon peanut butter burger. My family has been pleased with anything they've ordered. Staff are very nice and engages well with my son (who has special needs). They atmosphere is very laid back and a great spot for families to eat or a group of friends. Be aware that peanuts & peanut shells are a big thing so it's 99% likely you'll walk on shells.... and you are welcome to contribute to the shells on the floor :)

This place is supposed to have a shabby atmosphere but this place is a dirty dump. The glass on the fireplace is broken and the gas logs are laying on the floor. There’s a round hole in it he wall. On the end of the wood bench at our table they spray foamed the end to seal from the outside. The bathrooms are totally disgusting. I would hate to see what the kitchen looks like. They claim the fries are fresh cut but they are frozen fries. The burgers are average. The place is a dump and is in need of a tear down and rebuild
