The Fish Shak

My husband and I came here for lunch on 10/3/24. We are frequent visitors to the Murrells Inlet/Garden City area. I can’t believe this is the first time we have eaten here!! We got the triple play and 2 mahi tacos. Holy moly!! Everything was fresh, amazing flavor and not heavy deep fried, which is what we really enjoy. The owner is super friendly and very generous with portions!! We will definitely be back!!!

Disappointed-5 tempura shrimp all the same size and shape? Looks like they came out a Costco bag. Cost 19 and change. We live in the seafood capital of SC.go local! If I am wrong I apologize. Chips were good but -it’s a potato.

The ladies were extremely nice and the food was spot on. It cured my craving for fish and shrimp. Most definitely will eat here again.

All of the food we had was fantastic. Fish and shrimp were lightly fried and tasty. Homemade chips were perfect. Prices very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Picnic tables with umbrellas to sit and eat in the shade.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic grouper!!! So glad we found it while in town from Tennessee. Great friendly service too. Reviewing because it was so great and so that I can remember to find it next time!

Staying in Surfside and hungry for fish and shrimp but wanted local, home cooked so found the The Fish Shak food truck. Right off US 17 nice, clean, parking area with an ice cream shop, The Fish Shak truck and my understanding more food trucks coming with authentic home cooked food. Food was excellent and we ordered the XL Flounder, Grouper Fingers and Shrimp to share. Plenty for 2 and ate at one of the shaded picnic tables. Delicious and highly recommend.

This is a food truck, so atmosphere isn't a consideration. The menu is limited, mostly fried, but quite tasty. This will be a weekly indulgence during Lent.The proprietress is warm, funny, and fast. She's the kind of lady whose business you want to support.Fried shrimp are great. They are big boys, not little popcorn shrimp. The flounder is delicious. The grouper fingers could be made better with a spicier batter, but everything is fried in clean oil.A variety of sauces/dips are available. The roumelade is quite good.

Great food truck. I had the Most Awesome Fish Sandwich. It was excellent and very large. The potato chips were also very good. Had to wait 5 minutes because it was made for me not sitting under a heat lamp. I will be back!
