Extremely understaffed. Friendly and kind employees but definitely overworked. Don't expect this to be a quick stop option for food!

Me and my fiance walked in and said hello twice to different workers and they did not even look at us or say anything. I understand if your busy but at least tell us to give us a moment if that's the case. We wanted to ask them a question but they didn't even take a moment to look at us so we left. They had not acknowledged us leaving either.

Let me start off by saying whoever made both my smoothies this morning (8/16) did a fantastic job! Best one I've had in a very long time. I did encounter a problem that was not the employees fault - more along the lines of corp or the owner. Since I can remember you could order online and pickup at drive thru but now I'm being forced to come in. Very silly procedure/rule. I'm being punished for using the order ahead basically. Going forward I won't be using the app anymore unless I need to upload my points...

Let me start off by saying my smoothie is delicious! I gave the drink a five star but service wise which isn’t the workers fault was because of drive thru ordering. I ordered online for pickup. I just got done working and was over by this store and I knew they had a drive thru so I was like imma pick up from this store. I ordered online while I was on my way there and when I pulled up to the drive thru the girl told me that I have to come inside to pick it up. I DoorDash so I can understand that it could be a policy that door dashers/uber eats people have to come in but to make someone come in for an online order for their own self is ridiculous. This is the only place I’ve heard of doing this that has a drive thru option. This is why I will always go to the one over on Loyola drive here in the Myrtle beach area. Yes it doesn’t have a drive thru but the company doesn’t make stupid rules like this. Do better tropical smoothie company!!!

Waiting forever for food.

I like the smoothie bowls and wraps but a lot of times when I come here they either take awhile getting your order ready or the person taking your order at the drive thru always sounds rude which I can not stand when someone addresses you by saying go ahead with your order like your bothering them no hello no welcome they really need to talk to their staff about proper job etiquette!

I’ve had a bad experience at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Murrells Inlet, SC, two days in a row, on 3/21/2025 and 3/22/2025. Yesterday, I ordered a Baja chicken wrap for my Dad, and it was missing the beans, rice, and avocado. The only thing when it was chicken, lettuce, and tomato. Today my dad & mom ordered an island green smoothie and a detox island green smoothie. Both were gritty from something that was in the drink not mixed up, noticeable ice crystals and whole pieces of spinach in it. Either someone didn’t keep it in the mixer, long enough or their mixer is on the blink, but it was terrible. I have been going to a Tropical Smoothie near my home in PA for a long time and have never encountered these types of issues. The Murrells Inlet location needs to get its act together. Maybe some proper employee training or a new manager.

Ordered in the drive-thru, was greeted by a very sweet friendly young lady Kaylee that helped me with my order when I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, when most would have lost patience not knowing what exactly to order! Nice service w a smile and excellent tasting smoothie!

Purposely don’t wait on drive thru orders. Vehicles drove off.

I ordered bowls online 2 times in the last few months and this location was out of granola the first time and blueberries the second time! I was told about it when I got to the window, but of course it was too late to cancel the order because I already paid for it online. I figured I'd try them out again and recently ordered the new Bahama Mama bowl. They put sliced almonds in my bowl instead of coconut. Good thing I'm not allergic to almonds!! This location needs to do better! I will NOT be returning! Highly recommend going to the Surfside location instead!

Best açaí bowl around. Brazilians agree.
