Heard a lot of people talking about how good the food was so we had to try it. Me and my husband had a reservation for 8:00. The food was great! Our hostess and our server were beyond greatness. The only reason I gave it four stars is it is more of a bar than it is a food establishment well at least at 8:00. If you want just the atmosphere of good food and a nice place I would suggest going earlier than that if you're looking for the highlight of a bar setting with great food and this is all you. Unfortunately, it was just very hard for me and my husband to even talk to each other because it was so loud. Other than that I can't speak highly enough about this place. They have done a great job. Next time I want to go out to have a good time and not just eat dinner with my husband. This will definitely be in my memory bank

I had often wanted to stop and try this restaurant and I finally got around to doing so today! And I was not disappointed! My friend ordered the grouper bite tacos and I ordered the seasonal fish choosing mahi-mahi with creamed butternut squash and asparagus and my goodness it was seasoned so well! Both of us finished our plates with nothing to spare! We also shared the deviled eggs appetizer which were fabulous! This will not be my last trip here! I highly recommend it!

My girlfriend and I were just hungry for apps. It was happy hour. We had the grouper bites. They were fantastic. My friend also had the oyster shooters She loved them. We had the jalapeño margaritas Very yummy.
The lime and jalapeños, on the rocks with salt.

1229 Shine is a Hidden Gem in the Market Commons area of Myrtle Beach! Beach vibe is on point - trendy, modern, clean. Manager, Bartenders and servers are friendly and attentive. Reasonable Happy Hour specials, custom cocktails, seasonal brews, and good variety lunch and dinner menus. Fresh oyster bar and seafood. The outside area is also great for lounging, gathering for a game, or enjoying the vibe. My Wife and I are locals and we hit this place up whenever we're close by. Its worth checking out if you're ever in the area - on vacay or a local - stop by!

We have been going since they opened and loved to go. Our favorite was the Poke bowl. Unfortunately, all good things must end and the recipe was changed to a tropical version. We both were very disappointed. We hadn’t been for a while. Additionally, I don’t know what happened to the oyster shooters, but they used to be the best around. They were not as good. In fact, I’m not sure what happened. It was on a Thursday around 4:30 PM and it wasn’t busy.
