So good! The server Malachi, was personable and we were pleased with the service. My friend said both the oysters Rockefeller and the raw oysters were both delicious! Her one criticism was that they should've loosened the oyster from the shell more (we are from Maryland). The hush puppies were delicious with the addition of green onion and the honey butter set them over the top! The lobster deviled eggs with bacon were perfection (this from a person who doesn't like the white part of deviled eggs). The mozzarella spinach spring rolls were hot and crispy and came with a delicious sundried tomato dipping sauce. The frozen mules were a nice treat-I wish the blackberry was a bit stronger but the ginger beer took over. Still refreshing and delicious! We will be back!

Nice place, we sat at the bar and had 2 wonderful, local gals wait on us. They made great menu suggestions and gave us some great suggestions for our vacation as well.

We pulled into the lot because the place looked pretty cool from the outside with the old dinghy and bus parked around the building. The bar inside was also nice and the wine selection was pretty good. The restaurant is open bright and specializes in seafood with a lot of dishes featuring either oysters, grouper or shrimp. The food was decent but the portions were on the smaller side for the price. Service was really slow and we generally felt ignored from the time we got in there.

Our first meal at 1229Shine was amazing ! Sadly our 2nd visit disappointed Went for lunch yesterday- ordered from the Gluten Free menu The Grouper bite app was mostly "bottom of the bag" crumbles--having 3 or 4 small pieces of fish - and not enough sauces to cover the pieces. We asked for more sauce and did get more. Th Ceviche was a bowl of chopped red onion, green/red pepper, a tiny bit of mango THAT HAD THE SKIN ON ... and cucumber. I counted one shrimp that was cut into tiny pieces. Talk about disappointed. Lunch for four was over $100 For the prices, the value was NOT there at all

This place is an AMAZING hidden gem! The food is superb! There were so many delicious sounding items on the menu that I didn't know what to order. The service was outstanding!! The Ambiance is very inviting. I will definitely be returning.

If you are traveling and want to find a great seafood spot, this is the place. I was the last customer and they didn't rush me at all. Food was amazing and will always come back now when I'm in Myrtle Beach!

So seriously disappointed this visit. This had previously been a great happy hour spot for my husband and I with good food and good service. We took our moms to dinner there around 7:45 on a Friday night. The winter hours posted online and on the door said they closed at 10pm. We will not even walk into a restaurant an hour to close to ensure we won’t keep the employees too late. Coming in 2.15 hrs to close should have been fine. We ordered cocktails, oysters and some shared appetizers first and then entrees as these came out. The calamari was overdone and the crawfish spring rolls were burnt. In the time it took to get our entrees many of the patrons had left with exception of a couple of people at the bar. The staff had started cleaning up around us. It was a bit awkward but nothing to make a big deal about. Our entrees came out and were overall good. All of a sudden, a full 40 minutes prior to posted closing time, they turn all the lights on at full brightness. It has been a long time since I was young enough to be out until 2am but this was very reminiscent of 2am at the bar when they turn on the lights to signal that it’s time to leave. At this point we confirmed with staff that they closed at 10pm. We asked if they would mind dimming the lights, which they did very minimally. They said the lights were on a timer. To say we felt unwelcome and rushed to leave is an understatement. We won’t be back after such an uncomfortable experience. I just read a lot of recent reviews that seem to echo the same message—this place used to be great-with good food and dependable service but they have been going downhill. Not sure if they changed management or what but I’m sad to loose what once was a decent local spot.

The vibe of this place was so good!! My boyfriend and I both remarked how much we liked the decor. I had a blackberry mule which was very good, we also had some raw oysters which were a nice treat. My bf got the fry basket w shrimp and grouper which was excellent, I got so-so shrimp and grits. Overall a great experience and we would come back, I would just order differently next time!!

Very cute bar restaurant! The grouper / shrimp fry was fantastic! Ask for the bang bang sauce! For your shrimp! Good drinks!

Great spot! The vibe and decor was really relaxing yet fun. The food was amazing! Oysters were fresh, deviled eggs amazing, ahi wonton tacos delicious! The appetizer bang-bang grouper bites were great, enough for four people to share as an appetizer for sure. Service was prompt and very welcoming. Highly recommend this place.

I don't know what's happened since they first opened but they have gone completely down hill. The inside is beautiful. I'm not one to ever write a review but our last couple of experiences have been so bad. The smash burger used to be amazing, now looks like a McDonald's patty. Barely any sauce on the bang bang grouper bites (which used to be tossed in sauce). Zucchini appetizer wasn't even cooked. We've had the same server the last couple of times and she has no idea what beer/liquor they serve. Takes forever to get service, food or drinks. Even the tables around us were complaining about their service or food. The only thing consistent has been the oyster rockefeller. We won't be going back unfortunately. However, highly recommend their other restaurant, CO Sushi. They need to move CO to the Shine location.

Ambiance and food was great. One thing that can be better is the bar service. Bartenders were not attentive to us as other bars/restaurants.

This place changed their hours and did not notify the online platform so I placed a order drove 40 mins to pick it up only to find out they are closed and then had to wait another hour for a manager to come into the restaurant to be able to refund my money . I am from out of town and wanted to try this place but after this awful service I will not be eating here . Bad customer service is a no no for me
