Parking was horrible. Had to park in another parking lot across street, room had black mold, bubbles in ceiling, no coffee machine, microwave was completely rusted inside, 2towles, wash rags and no bath mat. Had to ask for replacements on towels and such. Did not come in to clean 2 dys we were there. No phone or bible. The only 2 good things about it was the ocean view and the bed was conformable. Ok location. Just needs updated and some tlc. Won't be staying there again for price. July 15-17 it was over 400.00. Pool was dirty.

First of all the address for Bar Harbor is 100 S Ocean Blvd, not North Ocean Blvd! This needs to be corrected on the booking websites. We wasted an hour before we found that out. The lady at checkin could be more pleasant! She was talking to a friend when I went into the office and the phone was ringing off the hook. She finally acknowledged that I was waiting to checkin. Next, we were given a room on the 8th floor. We got on the elevator (which had a beer can and trash on it) and it would only go to the 7th floor. Of course, we had to come back to the checkin desk to see if there was something wrong with the elevator! She said we should try it again, like we hadn’t tried it more one time. I told her to give me her phone number so we could call her if we got stuck on the elevator. She proceeded to give us a room on the 7th floor. As far as the room, it was clean, but some of the furniture needed to be replaced. The telephone was on the shelf in the closet. You had to call the hotel number to ask a question. Most of the time no one answered my call. The Wi-Fi never worked! The bed was comfortable, but only had a fitted and flat sheet on the bed (no cover). The only ice machine in our building was outside at the front of the building. The second day we were on vacation, there was no ice. The person at the front desk told my husband he would have to go over to the main building on the second floor to get ice. The last complaint, we has a full trash bag and the cleaning lady was outside our room. She told us to leave it and she would pick it up. We came back later that night and the trash was still outside our room. My husband had to take it down to the office because something had tried to get into the bag. Needless to say, we will not stay at this hotel again. I did see the reviews before I booked the hotel. My husband has cancer and asked to go to the beach to relax and see ocean out our window. Thinking that the hotel may be ok, I booked it on short notice.

Somehow , some way being able to post new reviews for this dump has been blocked on Google but it wasn't going to stop me from posting SOMEWHERE! Let's start with how the the pictures posted for the hotel ARE nothing like being up close and personal. The building is extremely run down, almost everything in the building along with the elevator is either broken or hardly working. Checking into "Bar Horrible" is what I call it, was a complete nightmare. We reserved to 2 rooms for our 2 day stay and when getting there 3:30, we were told by the very rude and unfriendly lady at the front desk that only one of our rooms were available. Almost 2 hrs later our other room still wasn't ready. We weren't the only ones waiting to be checked in. It was alot of people waiting to be checked in waaay after check-in time. Once we were finally about to check in, one of our rooms didn't have toilet paper, TV hardly worked, had a huge space under the door, bathroom floor and the bathroom floor was very dirty. Our other room, we couldn't even get in because the keys didn't work. Every question that you asked front desk or every concern that you brought to their attention brought nothing but attitude. I've never in my life been to such a horrible place! Save yourself the time, energy and frustration and AVOID this horrible place!

First let me say I have been coming here off and on for 20 years. This was by far the worst visit. First the 2nd bedroom no longer has a full kitchen (Website still says it does). They remodeled the rooms in the main building. It it was superficial updates. The pain is still peeling off the walls, the doors are loose and beaten up. They put new furniture in the beds are pretty comfortable The TVs are okay but the cabling is loose and you can't get a very good picture. The biggest complaint I had is me and my wife both had to work from the hotel on a couple of occasions and the Wi-Fi even in the offseason with hardly anybody there was absolutely horrible. Disconnects couldn't get a speed test to run greater than a couple of megabytes down and one up even in the off hours at like 5:00 a.m. in the morning. I understand you get what you pay for in the off-season but the simple fact that the couple of times when we asked for either a broom or a vacuum, because they don't service the rooms in the off-season, they wouldn't even or couldn't let us use it because it was locked up or the vacuums were broken. Saving Grace again is again you get what you pay for the price was great and the outdoor chairs and tables right outside the balcony on the first floor were great. Ask for customer service the second shift lady was okay The third shift had nobody there we ran on a toilet paper one morning and nobody was in the office till after 8:00 a.m. I don't think they had anybody working the night shift. The first shift individual who is running the counter every time I spoke to her acted like I was just a nuisance every time I asked her a question whether it's was where the best Thai food in the area was or if I asked for toilet paper or towels or a vacuum it was like I was bothering her. We have debated on whether or not we will go here again unless we see some reviews saying that something has changed. You think I want to address here is the fact that the description still states that it has a full kitchen on the left hand side building. This is no longer true we literally had to go buy a hot plate on Thanksgiving Day to be able to finish our Thanksgiving Day meal because we did not know that there was no kitchen in the room when we booked.

I have stayed here a couple times and this stay was by far the worst. I brought my 6 year old grandson down for vacation and to see his Pappy it was the very first vacation he’s ever had we were supposed to have two bedrooms oceanfront with a balcony and the pictures that they showed on the Internet were of the hotel next-door the original Bar Harbor we got stuck in the second hotel which was purchased by bar harbor 5 years ago.We were supposed to have a two bedroom what we got was one bed as soon as you walk in the room then you walk through I guess that’s what they call a kitchen) the Microwave had no glass plate in it the refrigerator/ the freezer was very small freezer wasn’t defrosted and food or whatever left in there you went into what was supposed to be the other bedroom which had the balcony on that side so as far as two bedrooms it was far from being two bedrooms the rooms were filthy the bathroom was filthy we had to hunt people down for towels and wash cloths we never saw a housekeeper the whole entire week we was there they never asked to clean room or try to clean the room. The sheets and the mattress cover on the bed on the side that had the balcony was filthy the pillows were dirty it was just an overall nightmare everything was dirty dusty everywhere you look stuff was cracking peeling off the walls and it was just the worst by far they need to either update it or they need to update the website and not post pictures from the other hotel because for the price you pay for a week down there it should’ve been better than that very disappointed would not recommend the hotel ever again to anybody else.

this hotel may not be 5 star quality its worthy. All of the staff was kind and did not discriminate agents me as young traveler. the room was clean bed and sheets were spotless, offered free dvds and players in the rooms. Its right on the beach with bridge access as well as beach front sitting areas on THERE property. Bathroom door was damaged which looked bad I will admit but they said they were renovating and I seen to be true as they were working on above floor rooms(no noise issues either :)) all rooms have private balcony which is great. New mini fridge and microwave in the room as well as CALI king (loved) over all between price, location and value its GREAT. its not the Hilton but a vacation with hotel on the beach under $100 best value on the Beach also bonus (2) pools to use at the hotel as well plus unlike may hotels I noticed they offer garaged parking spaces and night time security THANK YOU lynnia and Dennis for a great stay will definitely stay with again when at myrtle beach

This place is the getto, ROACHES in the rooms Ants in the beds, no balcalnoy, it is a nasty roof top getting ready to cave in with livingroom carpet on it. The room is FILTHY, I can not say that enough. Every surface has unexplained grime or drit on it. No coffee, Last guest food in the refrig. All they did was make a bed when someone checked out. Scammers, won't refund your money, will just walk away from you and offer no help. No shower curtain the room I would stay far away from this place. In fact I am calling the Health Dept of them for their infestion of bugs Please clean the filter in the ac unit, I don't think anyone at that place knows it needs to be done. I spent 1/2 hr cleaning the room just so I could sit. Gross out over this place. Save your money

The sign on road made us stop $69 nightly. With tax and fee was $107, which was fine for Wed and Thursday, then on Friday rate went up to $250 for same room. Bed was awesome, but walls had mold, its an old hotel but if your asking $250 might as well stay at better hotel. On Friday the water was down 2 hours and then lightening hit elevator and went out. What are we suppose to do when you have older folks who cant walk up and down when you are on the 5th floor. The phone doesn't connect to the hotel you have to use your cell phone so you have no idea of any problems unless you call or walk to front office. Who can i call to get some money back.
This place is filthy. Not worth 50$ a night much less the 419.00 that I was charged for 2 days. No phone in room. And no towels. After I asked for towels went to office 5 hours later because I still did t have towels got towels was given 2 towels for 2 ppl. No pool towels was told to use my room towels. Private patio is shared by 4 rooms. Would never recommend this place to anyone at any time. And bathroom sink wouldn’t drain. Oh yeah I almost forgot the indoor pool and lazy river they advertise is at the hotel next door.

Our 3 night stay turned into a 1 night stay. It was bad from the time we got there to check in when we were told we couldn’t check in until 4:30 because they were “behind schedule.”. The first room we finally checked into had holes in the ceiling, mold and mildew, was disgustingly not taken care of, stained bedding, smelled, the AC didn’t work, the door jams looked to have been kicked in, a gap under the entry door over an inch high, and the list goes on. We complained and were given a different room which was slightly better, but still unacceptable since we paid close to $200 per night. If I could give this place a 0 rating I would. We checked out after the first night only to find out they charged us at check in for all 3 nights. The people at the front desk didn’t seem surprised about any of our complaints. What hotel doesn’t have towels in the rooms? You have to request them. There were no towels racks or toilet paper holders, either. An absolute total dump. Don’t waste your time OR money on this place or even Myrtle Beach for that matter.

So lets start witj they had no rooms available on the 1st floor or second for a disabled veteran, but when we get in the room on the 5th floor no towels we available so we had to walk back down 5 flights of stairs because of the elevator being broken to get towels. The front desk staff is lazy and not willing to make the guests feel appreciated. In summary worst hotel then sleeping in a foxhole with my platoon. If you have thoughts about renting there rethink that !!!! Signed one very angry and pissed off vet.

The Place smelled of weed the entire time, the cleaning staff never came to clean over 4 days, the railing on 5th floor balcony is loose, the keys had to re programed daily, the pool was closed for 2 days of our 4 day stay. Trash was always somewhere in the hallway. Drug addicts always hang out on the main entrance to the beach from this hotel.

The rooms are not clean they have bed bugs and do not stay here i went down for the weekend and caught a bed bug took to the office and they told oh there is not bugs and that they found no bugs my poor dad was eaten alive in the room i would not even let the worst person stay in this room. we had no where else to go they say they will discount your room but that is BS. Do you self a favor DO NOT SAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
