Big Joe has catered 2 events at St Laurence high school for our football program! The food has been amazing! The pork and brisket are absolutely perfect. And I could not get enough of the smashed potatoes! I can’t wait for the next event! Thanks for a great meal!!

I took my wife out for her birthday (65, so it was very special). We’re locals, so we’ve eaten here on numerous occasions and is one of our favorite restaurants - great atmosphere, great steaks, great service, etc. On this particular night though, it seemed that inflation and the attempt to maintain a healthy profit margin may have caught up with them. We have always loved the Steak Diane, a nice filet with a mouth watering brown mushroom gravy. Normally so tender you could practically cut it with a fork. On this night, however, it was tough as a $2 steak, but was $40. It was ordered cooked “medium” and came out raw and barely luke warm. Our waitress, Ashley, was great. Very accommodating. She came by the table, looked down at my plate and before I could say a word, offered to take it back to have it cooked to medium. It was cooked to medium, but was still on the tough side. The service and the atmosphere were still outstanding (I would recommend you ask for Ashley as your waitress). It was disappointing as this was one of our favorites and we’ve been here since 2008.

Some friends and I dined at Joe's Bar & Grill based on a recommendation. We were seated at the first table where you go in to the dining room and it was terrible. The tables are so crowded that the wait staff has a tough time getting through the place. The kitchen entry was right near our table and the staff kept holding trays directly over our heads to get to their tables. They did the best they could given the spacing limitations. I pitied a poor couple who were on a date that had the bus boy sit his tray right next to the mans head while he dried cups! The acoustics definitely need attention. The dining area was extremely loud and would not be favorable for a business dinner or as a place where you just want good conversation. My shrimp and grits were excellent but the atmosphere took a lot away from truly enjoying this dining experience.

We had reservations for dinner at 7:15 PM and when you walk into the dining room the noise level was so high that you couldn’t even talk to the person across the table from you. It appears that they crammed more tables into the dining room that would be there normally and you couldn’t even back up without running into another customer. Waiters would be standing directly behind you with a tray of drinks above your head just waiting for an accident to happen. Actually while we were there container of dirty dishes did end up being dumped on a customer because another waiter bumped into the bus boy. As for the food I ordered a triple play and the ribeye was so tough and the shrimp so over cooked I couldn’t even eat them. The roasted potatoes were the best thing on the plate. We also ordered the roasted brussels sprouts which we’re not roasted at all. Our waiter was very unattentive and would only go to one table at a time and run and bring them one thing and then come back and get the next thing. He never checked on us, never asked us how the food was, and when he brought our bills he just put them on the table saying I don’t know who had what so you guys can figure it out. Terrible experience and do not recommend it at all.

Based on reviews I wanted to love this place, and some of the food the people I was with was very good, but my was very, very underwhelming. I ordered the Steak Neptune which is 2 Filet medallions topped with Crab, Shrimp, Scallops and Béarnaise sauce. For the steak, neither piece had any seasoning. I had to add salt to my steak which I never do. It was just totally bland. Second, I ordered medium-rare. 1 piece was cooked well, the 2nd piece was between medium-well and well done (both same size, no idea how this happened). Next, the crab meat on top was filled with shell. Not 1 or 2 pieces but I picked out at least 20 pieces of shell. And finally the Shrimp and Scallops were completely rubber, just overcooked to death. I understand I could have sent it back but I was hate wasting food, so I didn't. I give 2 stars because our waitress was lovely and very friendly, and there were some in our party that were happy with their meal. I'm not sure why mine was so bad, but whoever was expediting did not do a good job with quality control. 1 look at the shrimp & scallops and you could tell they were rubber. With all the steak and seafood places around Myrtle Beach, I'd try something else. $35 for bland, overcooked food (my steak cost) was just not something I'd be willing to try again. But the staff was very pleasant and it was a cute little building.

Our hotel guest services recommended this local place for good fish and seafood. We asked if they follow the COVID guidelines and was assured they did. They couldn't be further from the truth if they tried. The outdoor dinning was an enclosed patio, with tables 2 feet apart. The wait staff did not wear masks and management had signs posted clearly stating that masks were not required and this is America - we make our own decisions.

We ate tonight at Joes Bar & Grill with a few friends and had a spectacular dinner in unique atmosphere beautiful view of the marsh. The short rib was to die for on a cold winter day. Seafood Chowder was something to write home about. Drink options and menu variety was impressive, there was something for everyone to choose from. Service was top notch too. But Let’s be real about this mask thing! Yes the staff wasn’t wearing mask, Yes the people dining and enjoying their lives were not wearing mask either (how can you wear a mask while drinking and eating with friends). But let’s be real! The mask are not working, ask anyone living in California, Pennsylvania, or New York. They have been wearing mask since day one of this pandemic and it doesn’t seem to be help them any. If you want to live life stress free then stay home and order takeout. You are making us normal people feel weird with your paper and cloth masks. Those plastic face shields are not working either. Much respect to Joes Bar & Grill, keep standing up for the American right to run your business the way you prefer. Freedom is all we got left. The Tuna app was great too!

Great location when seated. The table did not have silverware, the Grouper was very dry, over cooked or not fresh. The salad was very small, defintley Not fresh looking. When the waiter gave us the evening specials he did not mention the sides that accommodated the dish or the price (some may have mixed feeling on the subject but I think its not only a professional but important) The Grouper ended up being $28.00. .. On the flip side the linen table clothes and napkins is a nice touch. The wild life that entertains you were a delight. Very nice relaxed atmosphere... Im sure the coronavirus, being closed for almost 3 months had Alot to do with last nights dining experience.

We went here because of a recommendation at the resort. They were right. There’s a good atmosphere and friendly service. Our server was very understanding of my husband’s allergies and found a side that he could eat and enjoy. The meal was delicious, and we had a wonderful dinner. Make it your first choice if you are visiting.

we love this restaurant! With each visit to NMB we try to eat there often and it never disapoints - seafood, steaks and chops are all delicious. this trip we ate out back overlooking the marsh. After that, the Governor required all of SC to go on a shutdown so we called and got our steak and pork chops as carryouts - they were still fantastic. keep them in mind for carryout during this statewide lockdown.

Tonight is the last night we can go out to eat for a while so we chose Joe’s as it has a great reputation around here. It’s an upscale quality place with a very relaxed environment. The service was excellent; very professional, server and server assistants. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and made it easy to find the right menu item for each of us. The filet Neptune and the triple play were both awesome. The Chef prepared the meat perfectly. The bread pudding was gross. It tasted like a stale, wet piece of toast. (Full disclosure: I don’t like bread pudding typically, but always try it when it comes highly recommended). The cheesecakes were outstanding, especially the banana pudding cheese cake.

We ate here last night and had a great meal. They have a deal that if you bring in your receipt from your previous visit you get 20% off your next dinner, just not the early bird menu. Tonight I’m having pork chops and my wife the beef short ribs. Last night I had the blackened Mahi Mahi Neptune and my wife the Prime Rib. As usual you get a cheese tray at the table, and hot fresh bread. Prices are reasonable and the food is a cut above the steak houses as this is a locally run Restaurant. Please give it a try - you’ll be happy you did! Also, there’s a beautiful view of the salt water marsh from the dining room.

We ate at the indoor bar once, the outside "racoon" bar a number of times, and just recently in the main restaurant, once downstairs and once upstairs. The bartenders, wait staff even bussers are all extremely attentive and afficient. The food was outstanding whether a full dinner or just Happy Hour fare. The atmosphere is very pleasant - will definitely keep this on a favorites list and will be back.

We were greeted immediately when we walked in and taken to the host stand where we waited a few minutes while the lady there ignored us while she finished her telephone conversation. We were finally seated which was the beginning of being ignored again. After 10 minutes and no server came to our table, it is was beyond time to leave, but my wife still wanted to give them a chance. If they were really busy, the poor service might have been understandable but it wasn't. A waiter quickly passed by us but looked back as he was walking away and asked if we had been help. Well, No. A short time later a man (he didn't identify himself) and waitress showed up. He said they were sorry for the "mix up" and offered a free dessert. The food was fine, but nothing to justify the price compared to the plethora of better seafood restaurants in or around Myrtle Beach. The only good thing about the visit was the free dessert and free T-shirt. Certainly don't see any reason to ever return to this restaurant.

We have been coming here for at least 7 years or more. If we want a great meal, we know this place never disappoints us. My 3 main favorites are the salmon (prefer the blueberry sauce), the pork chops and a filet. They have a side dish of green beans that I could eat as my whole meal! My girls enjoy being seated on the porch dinning area. This last visit they got to see two raccoons appear from the marsh and climb up the tower to get bread that was thrown out for them. It’s great entertainment for everyone! The other huge reason we keep going back is the wonderful staff!!!
