Black Thai Restaurant & Lounge

Really missed my grandma's papaya salad and that's what intrigued me to come here. They have spice levels of 0-5 then 10. Do not underestimate how spicy they can make the dishes! I love how our server warned us prior that when they say spicy, they mean it. But wow! Delicious quality food, especially the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew, great pairing with Thai Tea. The food reminded me of my family's home cooking and the papaya salad was everything I'd remember it to taste like. Server was attentive and friendly. Making this an overall good experience and interior decor gave a nice ambience. I plan to be a regular if I'm ever feeling homesick.

First time customers. Ordered take out. Called back 5 minutes later to add a request, which the phone guy hurried to get included. Stopped in at least 10 minutes before they said it'd be ready, and it was ready within 3 minutes of me going in. Walked in and back to the bar area. Was immediately greeted, welcomed, and provided a glass of ice water. Bartender noticed I was eyeing the liquor selection and pointed out the beer specials and pulled out 2 sour beers when I asked about sours. Very friendly and chatted w me while the food was packed up. Even gave me a little tour of the outdoor patio when I asked if "these 2 spaces are it".

Would absolutely go back for the food alone, but the service was definitely exceptional.

This was a nice little find in our trip to Myrtle Beach, the food and drinks all excellent. Unfortunately the place is closing/has closed since then due to downtown revitalization work.
