California Dreaming

Salad and Chicken sandwich were great. French Fries not so good, some were overcooked and really dark brown with greasy taste. I think they were “ refried “ along with some fresh fries.

Easter Sunday and it was very busy and noisy. My steak was charred on one side and tasted a little burnt. Usually they are to perfection and delicious. I wrote it off to it being so busy and the food came out in a timely fashion so I didn't complain. Will still continue going. I really love their house salad that comes with the meal. My companion had the tenderloins and shrimp and theirs was perfect and the shrimp was also cooked to perfection.

We live very close, and this is one of our go to restaurants to go to when not cooking meal at home. Always good!

This is always my favorite place to eat. The service is always great and the food is always amazing!

We go to California dream and frequently the last two times have been not our favorite times the first time I ordered the ribs salad coleslaw my husband said he wanted the same thing and the waitress questioned what I had ordered and he confirmed that's what he wanted, what he got was two racks of ribs instead of one so I told her you know this is OK. We got two racks. Next thing I know she comes over with a plate takes her hands and picks up the top rack on my husband‘s ribs and put them on the plate. I said don't worry about it will pay for it. We'll just take it home. She said no now it was my fault I said if you're gonna throw it away, she said oh no the staff will eat it. I was in such shock. I didn't know what to do. The past time we were here was last night. It was not busy and yet the waiter was pushing and pushing and pushing us to order pushing us to get our bill never asked if we want dessert my husband I ordered dessert. He brings the bills our other friends want coffee, but couldn't grab him before he ran off so we had to redo his bill. I just felt like we were very much rushed for no reason whatsoever sorry for the bad reviews. it's generally our favorite place to go, and we have been terribly disappointed the last two times.

Came in today with a group of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids under 4) after the Broadway Christmas parade having never eaten at a California Dreaming before and had a wonderful experience! The hostess was pleasant and greeted us with a warm smile (not always the case when you enter an establishment with 3 kids in tow) and she promptly had us seated with high chairs and booster seats. Our server, Isaiah, was fabulous. I noticed him noticing us get settled from the moment we were brought to his section and he was prompt in approaching us once all were seated. We ordered the kids food first and it was brought out quickly and without error. We were catered to just the right amount, never hovering making us feel rushed, and when I was mistakenly brought a sweet tea instead of unsweet he had it removed from the bill. Atmosphere was wonderful, music was amazing (all of us were happily bobbing to Benny and the Jets), food was delicious, and again Isaiah was a joy. We will absolutely be repeat guests as locals and truly appreciate the warm welcome and wonderful lunch experience! Thank you again, Isaiah!

Went to Surfside Beach California Dreaming for Thanksgiving dinner. It was so bad that I don’t plan to return to the restaurant for any occasion. The pieces of ham & turkey were tiny, the dressing was grainy & awful, the corn bread was so small that, as you took off the wrapper it disintegrated., the gravey was greasy & even the green beans were bland.All of that awfulness for $29.99! The Thanksgiving plates must’ve been sitting under heat lamps because 30 seconds after we ordered they were brought to the table. Our reservation was for 2:45 & we were in our cars heading out of the parking lot at 3:20. The staff wanted us out so they could seat the next group. I appreciated that the place was open for Thanksgiving but I advise the public that the meal served is not worth it. Bob Evans & Cracker Barrel would’ve been much better meals & you wouldn’t have been hurried along. Really disappointing & won’t be repeated!

We had an excellent dinner. The service was great. Only problem was the practice of putting a random piece of paper under container of French fries. Not very sanitary.

Our server Dave is the best. This is our second time we’ve had him and can’t wait to come back! And as a bonus, the last time we were here, we mistakenly left our son’s favorite dinosaur stuffed animal and he saved it for us! We thought we lost it forever. That was so nice of him. We also love the croissants, salad, nachos, and chicken fingers! We will be back.

We went on 12/2/24 for dinner and had the pleasure of having Sheldon as our server. He was absolutely fantastic. One of the best servers I have ever had.

Worth the 5 stars just for the croissants. The Cali bowl was also realllllly good. Everyone else liked their food, but tasted mine and agreed that it was the best.
