O.A.K. Prime Kitchen and Bar

My family and I LOVE this restaurant! It has become one of our favorites when visiting MB and I find myself recommending OAK to others who are in the area or visiting. Chris and JK do an excellent job here making customers feel welcome and taking care of them!! All of the staff here have a wonderful personality and make you really feel at home and go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Can't wait for our next visit!

I can not even begin to explain how amazing this restaurant was. From the greeting at the door until the second we walked out was a 10 out of 10. Cheryl, our server was absolutely phenomenal very attentive, caring very fun and turns out we even know the same people. Her recommendations could not have been better. My girlfriend got the Seabass on special and I got the Wagyu ribeye on special and it was one of the best we have ever had. After Eating, we had a chance to talk to Stephanie and Chris, the owners. We had so much fun talked about commonalities and their backstory and cannot wait to go back to Oak prime. We will be loyal customers and maybe even go to Zack’s museum together. The overall experience was more than we could’ve ever hoped For and I could not strongly enough recommend this restaurant to anybody wanting a killer food experience and an overall personal experience thank y’all so much for the warm welcome. We cannot wait to be back within the next few days lol

Had an amazing birthday dinner with family. Brie was amazing server. Best greens ive ever had. Oysters Rockefeller were amazing. All around best dining experience in the area by far. Even got a happy birthday card at the table when arrived. Thank you!

We had the pleasure of dining for the first time at Oak Prime. What a delight to discover this fabulous venue and Chef King.The ambience and service were as they should be for a fine restaurant. Our waiter, Brie was wonderful. I highly recommend their Octopus, Elk and Lamb with their own excellent unique sauce's. We’ll definitely be back!

I have been going here to this establishment since they opened and seeing that they were recognized on the Michelin guide is something that should have came a lot sooner. there is not one dinner I have not enjoyed. my husband is the pickiest eater in the world and if he could pick anywhere to eat it would be here from the ambiance to the food to the servers to the bar. everything is perfect here and of course chef JK is the absolute perfection in this area or South Carolina for that matter. I have ate at many high dining establishments and there is absolutely no place. I'd rather be than eating here every night of the week if I could LOL. I could not recommend this establishment more. every single person in there is pleasant to deal with every time and the food is absolutely phenomenal

From beginning to end— John, Bri, Daniel— J.K., you have an amazing team who ensured our meal and experience were stellar.
John whipped up festive cocktails and we had the wild mushroom bruschetta (yummy) at the bar.
Then we moved to the dining room where Bri served our flash fried spinach, perfectly prepared collards and au gratin paired with his sear-crusted Prime Delmonico Ribeye and my Australian Wagyu Filet— they were all outstanding! Finished with the not-too-sweet Mascarpone Carrot cake. We had a very memorable evening of ambiance and food! Thank you!

(Edit) *The reply from the restaurant is so passive-aggressive and catty that it is worth a read. And if there is not a server station, my mistake. There is a dedicated area where all the wait staff stand around and chat...but not a server station. And apparently whatever I had to ask to have cleaned off of our table were not crumbs, it was some other mystery substance.*

Bar disguising itself as fine dining. The food is fine, but the more expensive items can honestly be made at home. Entrees and side items, much like the decor, seem to be an after-thought after once the bar was in place. The bar area where the golfers sit is like a beautiful Aspen lodge. The food reinforces the feeling that you are at a golfer bar. Everything that shines on the menu is an appetizer, and the restaurant goes waaay out of its way to let you know there are food specials if you sit at the bar. You know, the way TGI Fridays does things (not a restaurant with Michelin aspirations).

The rest of the dining area looks and feels like an outdated club. It is so tonally different that at firsr you think you did something wrong by being seated in the dingy area (not to mention we were seated away from the rest of the diners and placed by the server station....by ourselves at a table that had crumbs on it from the previous diners. No drink refils (no refill even offered on water, my club soda, or the wife's wine), the chorizo under our octopus was stone cold, parts of my $68 dollar steak had so much senew that they were inedible, and everything was overseasoned. I get that steakhouses go heavy on salt (especially with wood-fired meats) so I expected a heavy hand, but the elk, the steak, even the spinach was overseasoned.

If this seemed knit-picky, it is. When it is a $250 dinner for two, you at least expect warm food and drink refills.

I have been here over 40 times and it has always been on point. The staff, quality of service, and the food is unmatched in the Grand Strand! We love this place so much!

My parents, my wife, and I spent an absolutely wonderful evening at O.A.K. Prime. After reading about OAK being on the Michelin guide, I knew I had to try it. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the Elk Chops, while my wife got the crab cakes along with a side of the lobster mac' and cheese. Wonderful! My mother got the seafood presentation of the evening, I cannot remember what it was but I do remember my mother's look of bliss as she bit into the first bite. Lol. My father got the lamb chops which I tried and it tasted better than I expected. The drinks were very well made, though pricey. I noticed a lot of folks around me having water while I had three drinks and my wife 2. Next time I may have drinks elsewhere and save one for dinner at OAK.

This place is amazing and I'm happy it is in Carolina Forest, we deserve a place like this close by. We will be going again. You must try.

He deserves the Michelin Recommendation that he Received! Chef JK food is DECADENT. There are no other words to describe. Every plate represents his passion.

I just started back dating Saturday night so for first date that place was absolutely awesome quiet nice acoustics ambience perfect food off the chain simply meaning it was great. I had the lamb chops. Oh my God unbelievable. My date had the trout unbelievable for appetizershe had squid for appetizer I had clams no complaints my server. Peter was excellent. I will definitely promote and push this place with my friends and family. thank you for a lovely evening.

What a great experience! Comfortable dining room, nice ambiance, superb service. So nice to go to a restaurant that knows how to time your drinks and food, never rushing between courses. Quiet enough to have a conversation at the table. This is worthy of being your special place!
