I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Danny Lee’s. I placed a simple to-go order (a chicken sandwich), walked about 10 minutes to my destination, and immediately discovered hair in my food. Mistakes can happen in food service, and I understand that. What matters most is how staff handles it — and that’s where this place failed completely.

I tried to call three times before walking back, but each time, the person on the phone hung up on me mid-conversation. When I returned in person with my meal and receipt in hand, two bartenders (one blonde named Danielle and another short, dark-haired woman) dismissed my concern, even after I showed them the hair directly. Instead of apologizing and remaking my order, they argued, stalled, and made it difficult to get a resolution.

They offered me either a cash refund (even though I paid via Apple Pay) or to remake the same meal. I suggested switching to wings and fries instead, given the situation, but was told I’d have to pay extra — which felt extremely inappropriate considering the circumstances. After several back-and-forths, I reluctantly agreed, only to sit through 10–15 minutes of hearing the bartenders openly make comments about me and my situation in front of other customers.

The blonde bartender, in particular, made several discriminatory remarks. She repeatedly referred to me as “these people” while talking to other customers about the situation. When I asked who she was referring to, she pointed directly at me and said, “You.” I was the only Black customer in the establishment at the time, so it was clear she was not just talking about me as an individual, but generalizing in a racially offensive way. This created an uncomfortable, hostile atmosphere where other customers joined in the discussion instead of staff resolving the issue.

As the only young Black woman in the room, I was singled out, disrespected, and treated in a way that no customer should ever experience. When I eventually requested a refund again to simply leave, I was yelled at, cursed at, and told I could either pay the difference or get out. The situation escalated to the point that the owner, Pamela, came out — not to resolve the matter, but to double down, cuss at me herself, and make it clear she “didn’t care” if I ever came back.

In the end, I left feeling harassed, disrespected, and robbed, since I paid but did not receive what I ordered. Hair in food is bad enough — but unprofessional, hostile, and discriminatory treatment on top of it makes this place a hard never again. Myrtle Beach has too many restaurants that value customers to waste time or money here.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience at this bar was so disappointing that I need to share it.

On September 7, 2025, I visited with my legitimate, task-trained mobility service dog (protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act and South Carolina’s Layla’s Law). Instead of being welcomed like any other customer, I was told by staff member Diane that my service animal was not allowed in certain areas of the bar and was directed to a segregated section away from the rest of the patrons.

This treatment is not only discriminatory—it is illegal under both federal and state law. Service animals are considered adaptive equipment under the ADA, just like a wheelchair or cane. They are legally permitted in all public areas where customers are normally allowed. Businesses cannot restrict, segregate, or deny access to a person with a service dog.

As someone who relies on my service dog for mobility and independence, this was humiliating and unacceptable. People with disabilities should not have to defend their right to be included.

I will be filing an ADA Complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice regarding this incident. I also strongly encourage this establishment to educate their staff on service animal laws and disability rights to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Until then, I cannot recommend this bar to anyone who values accessibility, inclusion, or simply following the law.

I went to this bar last year around Halloween. I ordered some food but I don’t drink alcohol. I sang a karaoke song. The tables were decorated for Halloween and I was looking and touching some of the decorations. One of the staff members then told me to exit the bar and never come back. She obviously is obsessed with her authority and uses it to alienate customers. She should chill out and apologize for her actions. JC

For me, it was nothing special. My pork sandwich was bland. I guess all the flavor is in the rub seasoning. It was too small for the crowd that was there. I've had better at a flea market.
