Is This The Way Lifes Meant to Be?

This restaurant is excellent. The waitress Taylor very attentive and polite, professional and friendly. The atmosphere very calm, the place clean and the food really good. Bulgogi lettuce wrap. Green tea with lemon wedge, I added a piece of pickled ginger ( didn't work) cucumber and avocado sushi rolls with slices of pickled ginger and wasabi on the side, excellent and fresh, last plate sweet potato in the rice roll. We actually thought it was a sweet potato bread roll đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïžit was pretty good. We were able to carry out what we couldn't finish. I would gladly go again. It was a bit pricey as we ordered several items, there were two other plates with steak ( already cut, not a fan) and grilled shrimp with a mound of rice. Nice visit here. We will go back in December đŸ‘‹đŸŒ

Food was great. Service was great. What I do not like is that they charged a service charge as well as an operational fee and that was not even considered as the tip. We liked our waiter, but we cannot afford operational fees, service charges, and then tip on top of that so we were not able to tip our waiter. That is not fair to these waiters and waitresses. What are these fees for anyways???

I have ordered sushi from here multiple times. It's fresh and you get large portions. The staff is excellent and very friendly. They have a large sitting area, bar and do TAKE OUT! I usually get take-out and they do a very nice job at packing your order. See the photos. There is a lot of different roll options to cover first timers to experienced sushi lovers. The location is super easy to get to. Park on the David and Busters/Hard Rock Cafe side. This is my go to sushi place and if you try them, it may become yours too.

On Monday (11/24), my daughter and I stopped in King Kong Sushi for dinner before leaving Broadway at the Beach.

We shared the $65 Sushi Combo for 2 | DINE-IN ONLY and comes with:
- 2 Soups (we chose Miso),
- 2 House Salads w/ Ginger Dressing,
- 1 Appetizer (we got Shumai), and
- 4 Specialty Maki Rolls (we picked the: Dragon Roll, Hurricane Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Salmon Tempura Roll) | Each roll comes with TEN (10) pieces!!

I also ordered the Soft Shell Crab which came with 2 whole, decent sized crabs cut in half, giving you 4 large pieces.

Amanda was our super sweet server, providing great and efficient service! The food was plentiful and phenomenal as well!

If you’re seeking fast and delicious sushi while visiting Broadway at the Beach, look no further!

King Kong Sushi will definitely be our go to place when visiting Myrtle Beach!

The place smells like mildew. The air conditioning was pumping despite it only being 65 degrees outside. The hibachi steak had zero seasoning and tasted like it was cooked in a microwave and the rice and vegetables were hard and flavorless. Took two bites of each and the waiter didn’t even ask about the food when removing the full plate from the table and delivering the check. No wonder this place was empty.

We had such a wonderful experience at King Kong Sushi Bar! From the moment we walked in, the manager sat us immediately, and our server Clay was outstanding. He was attentive, knowledgeable, super friendly, and made sure our drinks were always full, truly an awesome waiter!

The food was phenomenal. I didn’t get a picture of the lobster wontons, but they were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the sushi deal, which came with two soups (we tried one clear and one miso the clear was great, the miso wasn’t my favorite but still good), two house salads, an appetizer, and four specialty rolls. We chose the crab wontons as our appetizer (pictured) and they were phenomenal as well. All four rolls were fresh and tasty definitely worth it for only $65!

For dessert, we added the fried cheesecake topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. My husband loved it! The only small note was that the presentation could have been a little nicer, but it’s really no big deal because everything else was plated beautifully.

I also had a peach martini, and it was perfect. Clay made sure our date night was extra special, and we truly appreciate his service. Thank you for a wonderful evening we’ll definitely be back!

When we walked in on a Thursday, there was only one other customer in there seated at 6pm. That should’ve been a red flag but we wanted to try it out. My husband got sushi and I got hibachi chicken. My chicken was bland. Tasted like grilled chicken with pepper. The rice wasn’t the best and the veggies weren’t cooked thoroughly to a nice softness like usual hibachi. Halfway through eating, I pulled a hair out of my mouth which wasn’t my own. I notified the waiter and he asked to see the hair. I told him it’s in the floor and he says “if I would’ve seen it, I could do something about it”. $65 and precious dinner time wasted. Also, my husband said our local chopstix serves significantly better tasting sushi than this place. Also had to wait 15 minutes to place our order in an empty restaurant. We will never be back and highly discourage others to try this place.
