Just finished my reception with Murray and Mikes catering and my experience was definitely a poor one. Aside from Murray being rude in general, he is not very good at planning or customer service. He was exceptionally poor at communicating with me. He didn't speak to me for the last month and a half before the wedding and said he accidentally blocked my number. Once he did talk to us it was an unorganized series of unprofessional communications that resulted in everything being thrown together last minute. He repeatedly forgot things he had told me were included and dropped The ball several times. The worst part however was when I met him and he immediately started using racial slurs and very offensive language. The way we were treated was completely uncalled for and not ok in any setting. I do not recommend anyone work with Murray and I never heard anything from Mike. The event came together and we have had a nice day but it was not due to his efforts. I really wish these were not issues I had to deal with on my wedding day and will definitely never use him again or be associated with the sun and sand resort and any of his endevours.

I wish I could say they were great but they weren't. First as the father of the Bride I was being called by the photographer and wanted to bring a drink with me so to elude the long line I went around a staircase ( a house on the beech we rented ) to go from the back to the bar and was told by the owner of the Catering company NO you have to wait in line and when I explained who I was and how I was needed he said I don't care you have to wait in line. Not only was he rude to me but afterwards I found out he was rude to many of my guests as well. There was supposed to be a photo booth but they showed up late, didn't have paper for the printer and wanted to set up upstairs away from my guests, at that point it was too late to even bother so they left. The food was good which is why I gave them any stars. I spoke with someone else who said they cancelled them a month before their wedding because of rudeness and not being able to get them to respond to calls and e-mails. Now it's three weeks after the Wedding and we are still waiting for the refund of the photo booth.

They make any kind of cake/cupcake you could imagine. I got marble cake and raspberry and lemon cupcakes :) also awesome tasting! The DJ was so nice and kept the party going. Murray does seem like a busy guy and at times can be hard to get a hold of but I have to give him credit because 2 weeks before the wedding he made absolute sure we had everything in order. Wedding season is crazy for everyone, especially for those working in the industry. My best advice to brides is to stay calm and patient with your cater :) they will make it all happen and everyone will be satisfied :) I would definitely recommend Mike and Murray to anyone in the Myrtle Beach area!

I had planned on using Murray and Mike's to do the catering, cake, DJ, and photo booth for my October wedding. I was very excited since it was a one stop shop and I thought it would make everything so much easier. Unfortunately I was very wrong. Between January and July I asked Murray 3 questions. To get an answer for each of those 3 questions it took a minimum of 2 weeks. I would send and email, wait a few days for a response, nothing. Send a text (Murray said it was the best form of communication), wait a few days, no response. Call and leave a voicemail. He would normally call back to then say he was busy running into a store or something and that he would call back but never would. So the email/text/call process would start all over. Eventually, I would get an answer but not after being asked if I was sure I wanted to get married because he was going through a divorce and it sucked. By the 3rd question, which was in regards to setting up a cake tasting, I was so frustrated with trying to get a hold of him that my mom decided to step in and call. He told her that my wedding was 3 months out so there was plenty of time and if this was stressing me out how was I going to handle marriage. A few days after this I decided that Murray (I've never spoken to Mike besides at the initial meeting) and I were not a good fit. He was incredibly unprofessional and his comments crossed a line. My dad called to tell Murray that we were no longer going to use Murray and Mikes and he said fine and that we didn't know what we were going to be missing and he would call my dad about refunding our deposit the next day because he was out of town. This was 2 months ago....my dad, myself and my fiance have all called, emailed and text Murray and he is blatantly ignoring us. It has become such an issue that we are now involving a lawyer. So to all who are considering using Murray and Mike's Catering, BEWARE!

Murray the owner is one of the most amazing people I have ever dealt with. Food, staff, customer service, the overall experience, everything was beyond my expectations. I am from out of town so I didn't know who to call talked to a couple catering companies and after some research decided to hire these guys. The catering was great I received so many compliments on the food and friendliness of the staff.. Also the DJ did and excellent job and played great music to keep the reception going. If your looking for a good DJ in Myrtle Beach, he's the one. I would recommend you to all my friends.

I attended a gorgeous wedding last weekend. It was catered beautifully from the place settings to the food. The cuisine was delicious with great presentation. The Myrtle Beach DJ, Murray did a fantastic job keeping everyone dancing and entertained. Highly recommend if you have a wedding or special gathering to have them cater it.

Murray and Mike catered my wedding in May of 2014. We had a southern food appetizer hour with chicken and waffles on a stick (whoa), shrimp and grits, and fried mac and cheese. It was amazing. Then the main courses were bbq, chicken, mac and cheese, the best collard greens ever, fried okra, homemade baked beans, it was seriously incredible. They cook sous-vide so everything is unbelievably juicy and tender and cooked consistently. They also did our Wedding cake (almond cake) which was the best tasting cake we have ever had and it was priced so well. We get one every time we visit the area now! AND Murray was the DJ and did a phenomenal job. I also can't say enough about his assistants as they were very kind and so helpful to make the night perfect. I highly recommend these guys, they are the real deal!
