We had a Rita’s Italian Ice back in Pennsylvania when I was growing up, but we don’t have one in North Carolina—so it was a great surprise to see one while on vacation down here. As soon as I saw the sign, I knew we had to stop.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean everything was. The floors were spotless, the counters were wiped down, and the place smelled fresh. It really made me feel like they care about keeping the store nice for their customers.
The staff were also super friendly. They greeted me with a smile as soon as I walked in and didn’t rush me while I looked at all the different flavors. When I asked for a recommendation, the worker was patient and even offered me a sample to help me decide. That made me feel welcome and comfortable.
I got the Swedish Fish flavor with custard—it’s my absolute favorite—and it did not disappoint! It was sweet, smooth, and tasted just like the candy. It brought back so many good memories from when I used to go as a kid.
Overall, I’d give Rita’s a 10 out of 10. If you're looking for a tasty dessert and a friendly place to hang out, this is a great spot to try.

We recently discovered a Rita’s in Myrtle Beach and enjoyed indulging in my favorite green apple Italian ice. The treat was delicious as always, but I did have one concern. The young lady working there was handling the store alone, which was surprising given the store’s size and its two entrances—one on Ocean Blvd and the other on the other on 13th Ave South, a side street that was dark and felt a bit shady. The location sits below some less-than-desirable apartments, so it was a bit worrying that the side door was left unlocked at 9:30pm. While the service was friendly and the Italian ice was great, I hope they can improve security for the safety of staff.

I got myself a gelati with watermelon ice and vanilla custard, and the texture of the ice is unbelievable, and the custard is one of the best ice cream textures I've ever tasted, very creamy with no artificial vanilla flavoring, and the service was welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely be coming back.

We absolutely loved the custard, Italian Ice, and frozen coffee!!!! Perfect way to end the night!!!!!
The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! Perfect treat after a day in the sun or time on the beach! I sat outside on the patio and enjoyed my treat in the shade. The patio was mostly clean from what I remember!
