Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had. The oxtails, jerk chicken, baked Mac n cheese, and fried sweet plantains were absolutely incredible. I’ll 100% be returning.

I’m from Boston visiting Myrtle Beach. Second time visiting Scotch Bonnet with my husband. Oxtail, brown stew, jerk chicken to die for. Master Chef Chaplain very friendly and personable. We’ll definitely be going back The next time we’re in Myrtle Beach. Chef, Teresa and Joel definitely appreciate the service and the quality food. See you soon!

A real gem of a spot! šŸŒ¶ļøšŸŒ“ The melt-in-your-mouth jerk chicken wraps was a win tonight with cabbage that melts in your mouth as well and paired with a clean, welcoming atmosphere and a caring Caribbean family. That’s the kind of place that lingers in your memory long after the meal is over. We will be back for the ox-tails since as this our adult children favorite. #bestjerksaucewelike

Be careful when ordering the jerk chicken sandwich…. Found a bone in the sandwhich that was quite large…not chicken gristle which is what was commented I cut the inside of my mouth that doesn’t happen with gristle (also gristle is chewy this was hard as a rock) and nearly broke a tooth chewing the bone. I get that they say it was deboned but it clearly wasn’t checked properly.
I love authentic food and it’s a shame that I’m leaving this review because their food was quite nice until I bit into the bone the second order we received was also wrong…

By far one of the best places ever. I've tried several jamican restaurants near the hotels by the beach and even some recommended by locals and they do not compare to the food here... super friendly atmosphere. Don't expect a five star restaurant vibe.. it's down home and the music is great... even have dominoes on Friday nights. Just moved here and will be coming back! The portions are big and worth it.

If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food… keep craving.
Because what we got here was authentic food poisoning.

From the moment we walked in, it was giving ā€œhealth code violation meets haunted cafeteriaā€ vibes. Overflowing trash cans in the dining area and bathroom, falling decor clinging on for dear life, and a laundry basket full of empty toilet paper rolls like it’s part a ā€œthings that belong in the trashā€ exhibit. The hallway to the bathroom? Completely dark—like a scene from a low-budget horror film.

Our teenage waiter mumbled through the whole service and brought us one fork, then another one upon request for three meals—math isn’t his thing.
The food? Fried chicken was dry and stale tasted like it was fried yesterday and reheated in regret. The jerk chicken had a strange, sour flavor that was… suspicious. And the brown stew chicken was mostly bones. The mac & cheese was bland yellow chock powder mixed with sadness. Honestly, the rice was the only thing that we suspected may have been safe for consumption.

We left feeling nauseous and increasingly unwell. Not full—just fooled.

This place isn’t a hidden gem. It’s a public service announcement.

Save your stomach. Go anywhere else.
