Was told this is the best. I struggle to get any flavor at all in the fish. If you like drowning food sauce, then fine. If you want to be able to taste the seasoning, breading, and fish, then look elsewhere. The shrimp was ok and scallops were delivery but a bit mushier than I'm used to.

Me and my husband came here tonight for valentines and when we originally arrived they said the wait time was 25 minutes, so she proceeds to take my number and said they will text when the table is ready. Well after 30 minutes we go inside to sit so we will be close when we are called.. still nothing, we proceed to sit there for 55 whole minutes and I finally go say something and they say “ we already called your name” I said i told you we would be waiting outside and you said y’all would also text when it’s ready?! So then they take us to this table so small that they had just asked a couple who had just came in if they wanted to be seated quickly they could have that table and they refused. After that we just decided to leave because the receptionist was extremely rude when I asked why it was taking so long and honestly after all that we decided but to even dine in there it left a bad taste in our mouths.
Our favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. Right on the ocean with fabulous views. She Crab Soup is the best in the area, as good as most places in Charleston. Fresh fish and a large menu of choices.

Excellent food. Good service. Lovely complementary brownie, hot fudge, ice cream dessert for my birthday.
Update 2/14/2026 For breakfast.
Do not go near the end of their breakfast service. Worst breakfast I've had in a long time. Service was horrible, the country gravy on the biscuits was congealed, everything was cold except the grids which were like wallpaper paste. By 10:15, the buffet had essentially been knocked down as one of my companions likened it to a breakfast at a chain hotel.

A mixed bag here. Pluses- perfect fried oysters and wonderful grilled scallops. But…the grilled shrimp were way too small for a good restaurant and very much overcooked. The grilled flounder seemed to have been a frozen piece of fish and overcooked as well.

A special place for a late lunch. The hushpuppies and butter felt like I started with dessert. The only thing better than the food was the cozy corner table with an amazing view.

Sea Captains has been a must when visiting the area for many years. We are never disappointed. The breakfast buffet is delicious with many options, to include shrimp and grits (yum!). Everyone is so nice and the view is gorgeous!
