Tavern In Surfside

Lunch date and I arrive only to find posting on door that they are closed for renovations.

My family and I are regulars, especially for happy hour. The boneless wings, pizza, cheese curds are absolutely amazing. Anthony is our favorite server. He is very attentive and friendly. I hope the new owners keep the staff and menu.

Went to watch the Sunday NFL games.. total chaos on how to get games on the TVs. Nobody mentioned if there were any GameDay specials. When I asked I got a sigh and eye roll because the waitress had to go ask. Our glasses were empty most of the day since our waitress was missing alot of the time

Definitely "better" sports bars to watch the games

Our go to place is Tavern In The Forest but we like Tavern in Surfside because of it's cozier bar area. The bartenders are always cool and attentive. We've never had a bad food experience there and we tried just about everything on the menu. (The pizza is like an old town tavern pie!!!) The only negative here is the draft beer situation. It's non existent. I was told that they are going to re-do the taps system.
Overall, we like going there alot! Shoutout to our bartenders there!

Salad dressing was extremely salty. I made the mistake of pouring it on my salad before tasting it. It made the salad nearly inedible. When the server asked I informed the chef needed to taste it, that it was too salty. That was the end of the conversation?!!

To me, there’s so many people sitting in the bar and when you go in there to pick up to go order, to go section is such a small area right next to the bathrooms and you have to wait. It seems like forever for someone working in the kitchen to come up to you to give it your takeout order.

Just a no for my family. Nice staff, old broken building, average food. Many other places in the area where your $$$ can be better spent.

After about three months, I finally convinced my girlfriend to try Tavern in Surfside, based on my positive experiences at Tavern in the Forest. We were seated promptly and ordered drinks along with three appetizers. We then placed our food orders. After finishing our appetizers, we waited for an hour before asking the waitress about the delay. During that time, other diners who were seated after us were served and finished their meals. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy.

The waitress explained that they were swamped, but we pointed out that people who had arrived later were already eating. She responded with an eye roll and a sigh, then walked away without saying anything. After another 15 minutes, she finally brought our food. Unfortunately, my meal was incomplete. When I inquired about it, she rolled her eyes again before going to fetch the missing items. By the time I got my burger, it was cold, as if it had been sitting out for a while. My girlfriend’s salad was sparse, missing many of the expected ingredients.

It was a deeply disappointing experience.

We ordered a Hawaiian pizza and nachos. The first slice I picked up to eat and everything slice off the crust. The crust was almost see through. The nachos were even worse. All the nachos were covered with soggy cheese mixture, mostly beans and not much burger.Thankfully the beer was cold!
